The recent hospitalization of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg following a year of health scares has raised the prospect of a Supreme Court vacancy in an election year and a partisan battle royal that would likely surpass the impeachment fight.
Liberal activists are already calling on President Trump to keep any possible Supreme Court vacancy open until after the 2020 election, but Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has indicated he would fill a court vacancy next year, even though he blocked former President Obamas nominee for most of 2016 after the death of Justice Antonin Scalia.

If we had a Supreme Court vacancy this year that Trump attempted to fill, it would be in the middle of an election year but not just any election year. Its going to be a year in which Trump is likely to have been defending claims against abuse of power and obstruction of justice in an impeachment trial, said Marge Baker, executive vice president of People for the American Way, a progressive advocacy group.

Liberal activists think they would have a shot at derailing a potential Trump nominee next year, as Senate Republicans will have to defend 22 seats, including seats that Democrats have a good shot of picking up, particularly in Arizona, Colorado, Maine and North Carolina.
After watching vulnerable Democratic incumbents such as former Sens. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) and Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) lose in 2018 losses they both attributed to the messy partisan fight over Kavanaugh vulnerable GOP senators may be reluctant to support a controversial Trump pick.

Barry was a lame duck. Trump isnt. They conveniently leave out that little detail. Ginsburg is going toes up, and Trump appoints her replacement. We win. Well, at least we slow the slog to the Left for a generation.
When she dies... lets just hope that President Trump and the Senate push someone through immediately. President Trump is almost certain to win reelection but the Senate is going to be a very tough fight. If we lose the Senate it will be at least two years before President Trump can get any SCOTUS justice confirmed. Fortunately, if the liberals start dying off, it will still mean a court that is more conservative than what we currently have.
The senate can't do judges if they're conducting the impeachment trial. That's why the rats won't go through with the impeachment vote until they need to tie up the senate with the trial.
Anyone President Trump nominates will make 1/2 the country crazy. Well, crazier at any rate.
IMHO, absurd to the point of qualifying as nonsense...
This President waits for both nothing and no one... Just examine virtually every one of his actions since rescuing the Presidency from the communist enemy...
One could almost sense a troll attempt here...
There are a handful of reasons why Collins is better than any Maine democrat who wants to challenge her.
Collins voted for President Trump’s tax cuts, voted for Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court, and voted for the overwhelming majority of the president’s other judicial picks. A democrat would have been a “no” vote on all of the above.
Also, The GOP needs to keep a Senate majority in January of 2021. We don’t want to see Chuck Schumer as Senate majority leader. Re-electing Susan Collins helps keep the Senate under GOP control.
I know Collins leaves a lot to be desired in a senator, but a democrat would be much worse.
That depends upon the type of cancer.

Your statement is better sourced and supported by data but I was about to say that black men die young in disproportionately large numbers (drugs, gangs, etc) and that skews the numbers. It’s like the old idea that life expectancy in the middle ages was 40ish. That’s technically accurate but misleading mostly because so many people didn’t survive childhood. Adults by and large lived well beyond 40 but all the child mortality totally skews the numbers. And so it is with black men.
Trump has a woman in mind for a replacement. A catholic woman. It will be fun.
Your explanation rings true. I suspected something like that, and that’s what prompted me to look up the stats.
