Maryland Democratic Party overspent under Rockeymoore Cummings, acting chairman says

The new acting chairman of the Maryland Democratic Party alleges the organization was overspending without strong financial controls under the leadership of former chairwoman Maya Rockeymoore Cummings, who is now seeking her late husband’s seat in Congress.

State Sen. Cory V. McCray, who took over as party chairman this month, wrote in a letter Friday to Maryland State Central Committee members that he has discovered “major areas of concern" pertaining to the organization’s finances, including “overspending” and lack of “fiscal constraints.” “In 2019, the Party has spent more money than it has raised for 9 out of 10 months,” wrote McCray, of East Baltimore. He said the party’s bank balance has dwindled by more than $300,000 this year.

My buddy and I were born and raised in Maryland. He moved to Virginia. I saw the Old Line self immolation coming. Eventually, I moved to Virginia.

Virginia is now a total loss. He's currently in Bluefield, WV today, touring homes for sale. I firewalled myself by relocating to Alabama with my current wife over two decades ago.

Part of my family still lives in the political Warsaw ghetto of Western Maryland, and are in no condition to leave it behind.
