Thanks for the insight. As I was driving through Baltimore (at night about 40+ years ago) it was the only big city I’d seen, that I thought was worse than Detroit.

My buddy and I were born and raised in Maryland. He moved to Virginia. I saw the Old Line self immolation coming. Eventually, I moved to Virginia.
Virginia is now a total loss. He's currently in Bluefield, WV today, touring homes for sale. I firewalled myself by relocating to Alabama with my current wife over two decades ago.
Part of my family still lives in the political Warsaw ghetto of Western Maryland, and are in no condition to leave it behind.
