...being counsel to the President is different than just being in the exec branch...I agree completely and would support a claim of executive or attorney-client privilege, but absolute immunity, which was the basis of this claim, is a bridge too far.

He doesnt have to testify. He needs to show up and then claim executive privilege with each question.
