Colombia's President Iván Duque has said security forces will remain on the streets to maintain order, as protests continued for a third day.
The anti-government demonstrations erupted on Thursday, when more than 250,000 marched in a national strike.
They started peacefully but clashes between protesters and police have since broken out, and there have been reports of vandalism and looting.
Mr Duque said troops would carry out joint patrols with police.
"We express the total and absolute rejection of all Colombians for the vandalism, for the terrorism, for the looting," Mr Duque told reporters on Saturday.
At least three people have died since the protests against corruption and possible austerity measures began.
A curfew was imposed in the capital, Bogotá, on Friday, but it did not deter protesters from returning to the streets a day later.

This is not a Protest
Since losing Brazil, the Marxists are busy in Chile, Bolivia and Columbia, with aid coming from Cuba via Venezuela.
The Colombian president is importing a new electorate from Venezuela. I have to wonder if the natives aren’t happy about this turn of events.
There was an article last week suggesting Colombia is about to explode. Partially because there are almost 3 million Venezuelan refugees (migrants) living there now on the gov’t dole.
Latin America seems like it’s about to implode and that means very bad news for us here.
Yes about 3 million Venezuelans are there.
The Colombians are not very open to having that many and they want them to go back.
¡Viva la Revolución!
“The Colombians are not very open to having that many and they want them to go back.”
Why, those racist xenophobic haters!!! ;)
LMAO!
True...fully supported by Putin.
Colombians are losing patience with the Venezuelans....and rightly so. I’ve heard this from several family members/friends.
“Both countries are essentially bankrupt. They are just money laundering conduits. The cash is coming from elsewhere. “
I was not referring to money, but was instead referring to people, agents of Cuba and of the Chavesistas, to assist the local Marxists. Some of them were arrested in protest-riots in Bolivia.
