My daughter’s boyfriend is from Nigeria. Graduated from high school at 16, college at 20 and has two masters of engineering degrees, one from Stanford. He’s a brilliant young man. My sister teaches math to inner city middle school kids in Baltimore and has a fair number of kids from Africa. They are all polite and hard working — the biggest fear their parents have is they become American blacks with the ghetto culture.
Enact reparations or universal basic income, and Ill drop out of the taxable economy.
MORE empty democrat promises. Trouble for them is fewer people fall for it anymore.
What about payment to Native Americans for appropriation of their scholarships and collegiate opportunities?
I understand; I interact with some West Africans as well, and they have both fear of and disdain for urban blacks here. These are people who witnessed the civil wars in Sierra Leone and Liberia, and they’re frightened here in our cities.
Their children outperform their American peers by leaps and bounds as well.
It doesnt sit right. Their ancestors were valuable property. What a horrible thing to go through, genuinely, to have your humanity in question and to have had no rights. But my own father was hunted for DEATH at age 7 and his relatives murdered for their religion, so its hard to see how we owe descendants of slaves. Much more recently we were treated like cockroaches, most of us exterminated like bugs. My grandparents would have been lucky to have been valued property rather than scum to be shot or gassed.
How did she ever graduate from college knowing so little about how economies work?
Do students learn about economics in college?
Ocasio-Cortez allegedly majored in economics. For what it’s worth.
Every living person who was held as a slave prior to Emancipation is entitled to $100,000,000 to be funded by every living person who owned a slave prior to Emancipation. Sounds totally fair and equitable to me. Far more so than making people who never owned a slave paid reparations to people who were held as slaves.
........”After a Cerebral Infarct.”
No.
The end.
In the midst of America’s GREATEST ECONOMY EVER Dip$hit Warren is talking about “reparations?”... go figure!
How about a national referendum?
In my opinion, that's the problem. She's talking to the wrong people. She needs to convince the other segments of our population. Also Ms Warren, may I ask why I should have to pay reparations since none of my ancestors owned slaves or other indentured servants.
But out of concern, I have authorized the Bank of Nigeria to donate a substantial portion of my newly acquired funds to your cause. Be patient, they will be in touch. If you have any questions in the interim, address them with my representative at P.T. Barnum and Associates.
She, like Hillary, will say and do anything to satisfy her narcissistic need. We can’t compensate those who were held in slavery, and we can’t hold responsible people who weren’t alive when slavery existed.
Honestly, given the current state of 'higher' education, and it's focus on ideology instead of learning to think, do you really need to ask?
Reparations to the families of fallen and wounded Union Soldiers who fought for the emancipation of the slaves.
(We could extend this to reparations to the families of the wounded and the fallen of WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and other conflicts.)
How about reparations to the families of Veterans, who gave such significant portions of their lives to defend Ms. Warren's right to be a fellow traveling, fifth-column, histrionic-America-hating, pathologically lying lunatic?
(I can saver her the time and trouble. We don't want money. We only want the preservation of our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness)
What about reperations for native Americans? She should be fot that one too, right?
But will she include her Indian family members or just the blacks
In my family, three of the branches were here in the 1600’s, the other side is native American. Several were slave owners, do I have to pay myself reparations?
same question for many who have left college today, how about AOC , and her moonbat ideas.
