Trump continues to push debunked Ukraine conspiracy theory
ABC "News" ^ | November 22, 2020 | By JORDYN PHELPS

The day after a former White House Russia expert warned about the danger of propagating a "fictional narrative" that Ukraine, not Russia, interfered in the 2016 presidential election, President Donald Trump went on national TV Friday and pushed that very conspiracy theory.

The president’s continued fixation on the debunked theory came the morning after former National Security Council official Fiona Hill, during her public testimony to impeachment investigators, warned that advancing the false narrative only plays into Russia’s hands.

“Some of you on this committee appear to believe that Russia and its security services did not conduct a campaign against our country-and that perhaps, somehow, for some reason, Ukraine did. This is a fictional narrative that has been perpetrated and propagated by the Russian security services themselves,” Hill said. “I would ask that you please not promote politically driven falsehoods that so clearly advance Russian interests.”

The president also accused David Holmes, a diplomat at the U.S. embassy in Ukraine, of making up his sworn public testimony he gave alongside Hill Thursday regarding a phone call Holmes said he overhead between Trump and Sondland during which Holmes said he could hear Trump asking Sondland about "investigations." Trump said “that was a total phony deal.”

“How about the guy with the telephone? I guarantee you that never took place,” Trump said. “I've been watching guys 40 years make phone calls and I can't hear, you could be two feet away I can't hear people making calls.”

“Debunked”-when the media convenes an on air panel of like minded experts who discuss a matter or fact that runs counter to their agenda. They then proceed to dismiss said matter or fact and thereafter declare it as “debunked.” Such declaration is quickly picked up by other like minded outlets and declared as being “widely known if supported.”

This is the new name for the same ole same ole “we agree with us, therefore everyone agrees with us” technique.

This assertion annoys the hell out of me. How is it “debunked”? First, you cannot prove a negative. Second, there is plenty of evidence that Ukraine and other countries interfered in the election.

This is pure propaganda. Why can’t journalists just report the news and investigate instead of inserting their own conclusions? Why not go look into the details...

Is Crowdstrike owned by a Ukrainian millionaire?
Do they have a copy of the DNC Server?
What did Chalupa, a DNC operative, do inside the Ukrainian Embassy?

Most of all, Ukrainian politicians leaked the so-called “ledger”, which was never proven, that forced the Trump campaign manager to resign. That is interference right there. That they continue to say “debunked” is bunk. They just can’t accept the truth.

If the MSM labels the Ukraine Connection a conspiracy hoax, you then know that it is real.

Collectively, these "witnesses" have long assumed that the President of the United States does NOT dictate our foreign policy if he or she isn't a deeply entrenched DEEP STATE HACK.

I hope Trump starts ROLLING HEADS. BIG TIME.

She is supposed to be smart and can’t figure out that more than one country could have been involved.

All these people marched in front of us as "ultimate experts" on all things Ukraine, and none of them seem to have any idea of the extensive corruption right under their noses. All of them turned a blind eye to any hint of illegal activity by Burisma, Privatbank and the highly connected Americans involved. Even when that corruption was being raised at the highest levels in the EU and USA, and billions of dollars were missing, these "experts", like Sgt Schultz, knew nothing.

This woman was deliberately mischaracterizing the comments by Republicans. None of them denied the Russians tried to interfere with the 2016 election. They were just pointing out the PROVEN interference by Ukraine.

It’s totally nuts. Bizarro world. Of course more than one country could have interfered. Ukrainians did interfere, as did other nationals. Nobody argues that Russians did not also interfere. Fiona Hill is a friggin’ moron and so are all the people who jump to unprovable conclusions. Yes Russians interfered. The GOP report comes to the same conclusion as everyone else. But so did others interfere - Stefan Halper of the UK, Downer of Australia, that Maltese professor, Ukrainian politicians and the Ukrainian embassy, even Italian intelligence likely did too. It is not “debunked” and can never be “debunked” because you cannot prove a negative but there is plenty of evidence that others interfered.

These journalists are morons too. So annoying. They don’t teach people logic. All these shills just repeat talking points fed to them by political operatives. Not a real thinker or investigator among them. All they have to do is google it - though google now even tries to bury the evidence. But plenty of search engines will turn up the evidence and it appears in various forms in all kinds of reporting.

What annoys me as well is when they write things like “right wing reporter” or “right wing circles” etc. Facts have no political affiliation. Evidence has no political affiliation. It either exists, or it doesn’t.

Apparently ABC has added “debunked” to its phrasebook of lies along with such gems as “settled science” and “women and minorities hit hardest”.

A free press is wonderful. Propaganda apparatus pretending to be free press is a nightmare!

Ukraine passed dirt on Manafort to the Clinton campaign. That’s not a conspiracy theory, that’s a fact. Anyone denying that Ukraine interferred with 2016 on behalf of Clinton is delusional.

I bet he sees the mediocrity all around him, esp in the various department the dems created, and really wonders why.

He’s talked about the dept of Education as being a waste.

I don’t know how much he can do thru EO, but if he doesn’t win the house, he needs to do as much as he can get away with.

I don’t have confidence that the American people will oust the democrats, but then again, it’s been a miracle already having this man in office for us.

Riiiiiight, ABC. Sorry, we’re waaaaay too smart to believe your lies. Liberals and progressives...not so much.
BTW, FReeper English majors, I can’t remember what the literary device is called, when a notice, article, statement, etc., puts forth the old, “previously debunked”, or “as has been known for some time”, etc., when no such thing is fact. What is that literary device called?
