Local officials in a handful of Virginia counties have voted to honor and defend gun rights by declaring their counties to be

Sort of sad this needs to happen in Virginia.

It is sad that the lunatics from New Jersey and New York have outvoted the real Virginians, but it is encouraging that they are fighting back.

Thankfully our Virginia county is considering doing this in December. Meeting conflicts with our VFW meeting...so we are postponing the VFW meeting so we can attend the Board of Supervisors meeting.

Wow. Why bother with a constitution at this point? Will we have voting Sanctuaries? Speaking sanctuaries? Unusual cruelty sanctuaries?

It would be nice to see all the pro-Constitution counties secede and join WVa as a large, patriotic state. Leave NOVA as a little federal employee state - with 4 electoral votes.

I’m curious about how far they take this.

Automatic weapons? Sawn-off shotguns? Suppressors? Is it anything goes? Because I would support that. But I wonder if the counties take it that far.

I hope they start to “sanctuary” over speeding and other finable offenses paid to the state. Issue warnings and never violations. Defund.

You have a point. The rule of law is disappearing. Personally I want a short person sanctuary where no products are put on top shelves where I can’t reach them.

West Virginua was born of the Civil War, as I recall, so, maybe...

I'm a transplant here, but the old timers tell me that the divide existed prior to the war. WV were basically the subsistence farmers and the communities that arise around that life. VA were the plantation farmers. A lot of it was due to topography, but over time, two separate cultures developed and the two parts of the state agreed on less and less. The war was an excuse to sever where there was already a dotted line.

You could probably more accurately say that West Virginia was born of a cultural divide, and from that perspective a South West Virginia would make sense for the same reason.

Maybe those counties could join us in WV and we can just move the WV/VA border a bit.

Just checked on VCDL’s website ...don’t see Loudon County on today’s list; however the list is growing exponentially and rapidly.
