CBS Late Show host Stephen Colbert admitted on his recent visit to New Zealand that he is no longer proud of his country.
Cycling through the capital of Wellington on a four-wheeled bicycle, Colbert asked two New Zealanders whether they feel proud of their country.
Oh, yeah, love that, one of them replies, to which Stephen Colbert responds: I miss that feeling.

I’m surprised I haven’t read a story demanding that Christchurch change its name because it’s offensive to Muslims.

For what it's worth, during the Obama, Clinton, and Carter years, I never said I wasn't proud of my country. I thought my President was a loser etc, or my government was horrible, and so on...but I have NEVER been unproud of my country.
America is much more than the government. She is about an idea, a vision, where the individual is greater than the collective and where all men are created equal. No other nation can say that, and no other nation has walked that walk - notwithstanding missteps along the way - for 200+ years. Even if Antifa was 51% of the citizenry and Hillary was President, I would still love my country.
For Colbert to say that he isn't proud of his country because of the President, it means his view of 'the country' has nothing to do with the people, places or things...it's all about THE GOVERNMENT. How sad, and how pitiful.
