Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Thursday cast doubt on the possibility of passing an updated North American trade deal by the end of 2019.
Im not even sure if we came to an agreement today that it would be enough time to finish, she said, referencing an end-of-year timeline many had hoped for on the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
Pelosi was scheduled to meet with U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer in her office later in the day to try to hammer out final details...
If passed, USMCA would be a central achievement for Trump going into the 2020 elections. As a candidate, he repeatedly promised to update the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Pelosi last week said the trade deal was "imminent." She has not used that language since.

I heard that Nancy was “trading” an affirmative vote for impeachment with bringing up USMCA.
MAYBE...THERE WERE SOME DEMS NOT BUYING NANCY’S QUID PRO QUO.
Not enough votes for impeachment...so NO USMCA.
That would be great.

Gee Nanzi, maybe there would have been enough time
if you hadn’t wasted it on this farce of an impeachment!!!

Partner, Pelousy will lose the Speaker position in the People's House.
The DemonRat party will go down in flames come this next November in 2020. They do not even care since they want to take out our POTUS.
The House can not do one thing since they are so involved in this Impeachment Circus and the 2nd Coup Attempt on President Trump.
The DemonRat is not even ashamed of not being able to do one thing for the American people.
President Trump calls them "The Do Nothing Democrats" and we agree with him 100% percent.

Partner, Paul Ryno is dead to us and that u r correct in saying that Pelousy is as bad as Paul Ryno since Paul Ryno was a Never Trumper plus Paul Ryno is very good friends with "Mittens Romney" and Mittens Romney was and still is the biggest joke of all.

House Democrats from districts Trump won (20+) are getting quite nervous.
They had a deal with Pelosi that this would pass and be forwarded to the Senate and POTUS for quick approval.
Democrats are so screwed.

This country needs to kick the dems to the curb in all branches of government from the feds to the smallest town. They are a disaster to everything they touch. Their ideology ruins whole countries (Zimbabwe and Venezuela recently) and states like California and New Jersey.

First Trump had to get Canada and Mexico to recognize the need for a change. Once at the table, they had to negotiate.
It was agreed to in November of 2018.
Mexico has already ratified it.
Canada is waiting on the U. S.
Pelosi is waiting until Trump moves on...

Why is Pelosi and the House even involved?
Agreements with foreign nations (treaties) only need ratification by the Senate.

Glad to see somebody gets it.
Nanzi does not get a vote—and her opinion is irrelevant.

I’d be curious to know what the biggest concerns around Nafta that folks here on this forum had and how USMCA addresses those concerns. Since NAFTA was rhe worst trade deal ever negotiated, what makes the USMCA better than that deal?
