Most of us who were there on that sunny August day will never forget. For everyone else, there's a sign: "Above this plaque is a bullet hole. It marks the heroic action taken by Family Research Council employee Leo Johnson on August 15, 2012." That was the morning Floyd Corkins walked into our lobby and changed FRC forever. He'd bought a gun and learned how to use it. He'd loaded three magazines. In his backpack was a stash of chicken sandwiches that he planned to smear in the faces of staffers he hoped to kill. "They endorse Chick-fil-A," he said. It would be a "statement against the people who work there."
Thanks to Leo, it was a statement he never got to make. Fourteen days after someone snapped a picture of our staff smiling over boxes of Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, Leo was the only thing standing between Floyd Corkins and an FRC massacre. To a lot of Americans, the company's decision to walk away from years of biblical truth is upsetting. To us, it's personal.
In the days and years after that, we never talked publicly about Chick-fil-A's response to the shooting. Mainly because there wasn't one. Through all of the press conferences, the trial, and sentencing, I never once picked up the phone or opened my email to a message from someone at headquarters. Not even to ask about Leo. Obviously, Chick-fil-A wanted then what they want publicly now: as much distance from our movement as possible.

You sound bitter
You ALLOW politics run your life
I chose not to
I patronize the businesses I do because I like the products/services they provide
Chick Fil A should set up a private foundation, donate to that and let the foundation disperse the money as seen fit. That way corporate isn’t involved and they can keep making great chicken sandwiches that Americans love. But that is my opinion, they can do whatever they want with their money. Once I paid it to them, it is theirs. They can donate and support Hillary for President for all I care.
I don’t want to bog myself down with researching nonsense instead of just researching what I need. Right now I looking to replace my dishwasher, I am researching which is the best model, quiet, and most bang for the buck so to speak, but of course willing to pay more quality, as long as it is worth it to me. I am not researching to see if the company donates to Dimms or if the night Janitor went to a Joe Biden event last month.
‘Boy how fast we turn on a friend for making a mistake.’
where ideology is king, mistakes are not allowed...
I know exactly why blue laws were jettisoned. Now you dont have a day of rest where families get to be together
And that, in a nutshell, is why the Left ends up winning every damned one of these things.
Because they are willing to sustain boycotts and pressure campaigns to the bitter end, while we are not.
Not too many businesses continue to walk in the founder's footsteps when the "old man" dies or is shoved aside.
‘Now I was reliably told on here by other freepers that this was all fake news and chic-fil-a wasnt kowtowing’
all right, enough is enough, I won’t stand for anymore of this...Chik Fil A is not ‘kowtowing’in the least...they are simply ‘acting in an excessively subservient manner’, so there...
kowtowing, indeed...
Get woke, go broke.
‘I didnt know there was a racial slur that ruined her’
oh yes; she complained on air about how niggardly she was being compensated...
Corporate Chick Fil A’s Facebook page is no longer searchable on Facebook, but is on other search engines.
There are several thousand angry responses to each of their recent posts.
Advance apologies to the resident anti-FBers...

I agree that Dicks will probably fail shortly. But thats ok because the CEO is virtuous. Which seems to be the difference between leftist CEOs and conservative ones - leftists will plow the company under for their ideology - conservatives wont stand up for theirs - even when theyre winning.
Now the pressure is on the franchise owners to decide whether to stay with the business or not. Could be lots of new corporate dictates coming down the pipe.
Are you kidding? Seriously, they just changed how they donate to charities, who cares?
I stand corrected!
If Chick-fil-A does not reverse their decision, they will become just another fast-food chain.
Whoever made these recommendations needs to be fired, and the company needs to do some market research on their customers.
This decision was a slap in the face to their loyal customers and fans.
I find it interesting that statements made like the one to which you responded seem to be primarily by freepers who joined SINCE TRUMP’S PRESIDENCY BEGAN. At least one on this thread, and then three others since yesterday who I welcomed to FR. All in my recent posting history.
eBay last year created their own payment system and don’t rely on Paypal anymore
Good
Closed my paypal account since I don’t need them anymore, felt great
Oh...so you’re too lazy (or meek) to fight back.
Well, just take your helmet off and sit on the sideline, grampa. While your sitting out and letting other, better people than you fight the fight, be sure to enjoy that “delicious chicken sandwich that American’s love.”
To equate this issue with researching whether or not a company’s janitor went to a Dem. rally clearly demonstrates a lack of cognitive ability. Anyway, stay fat, dumb, and happy with that order of waffle-fries.
I was a lurker for about 7 years before I created an account.
You need new, younger people interested in conservatism, President Trump, Republican party because, nobody lives forever.
Sorry, Chicken Sandwiches don’t need to be political
Will gladly
Just don’t run out of tin foil
