Most of us who were there on that sunny August day will never forget. For everyone else, there's a sign: "Above this plaque is a bullet hole. It marks the heroic action taken by Family Research Council employee Leo Johnson on August 15, 2012." That was the morning Floyd Corkins walked into our lobby and changed FRC forever. He'd bought a gun and learned how to use it. He'd loaded three magazines. In his backpack was a stash of chicken sandwiches that he planned to smear in the faces of staffers he hoped to kill. "They endorse Chick-fil-A," he said. It would be a "statement against the people who work there."
Thanks to Leo, it was a statement he never got to make. Fourteen days after someone snapped a picture of our staff smiling over boxes of Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, Leo was the only thing standing between Floyd Corkins and an FRC massacre. To a lot of Americans, the company's decision to walk away from years of biblical truth is upsetting. To us, it's personal.
In the days and years after that, we never talked publicly about Chick-fil-A's response to the shooting. Mainly because there wasn't one. Through all of the press conferences, the trial, and sentencing, I never once picked up the phone or opened my email to a message from someone at headquarters. Not even to ask about Leo. Obviously, Chick-fil-A wanted then what they want publicly now: as much distance from our movement as possible.

Well now that she’s on satellite she does a lot work than that. She tells wimpy males that who won’t stand up for their families or what’s right that they are “limp d*cks”. A few other choice invectives too.
Adios, CFA. Maybe the lesbians up the street will take up the slack from my walking away.
I go to Chick Fil A because of their tasty and reasonable priced chicken sandwiches
not because whatever their politics are of the day, or what group they donate to
Doesnt matter to me as well as many Americans who dont let politics run their lives

Politics runs your life whether you realize it or not. Maybe if you live in a bunker somewhere or are 80 years old and close to checking out of this world, you don’t have to worry about it. There’s cultural/moral war going on out there; it’s hard to believe that anyone still on this website is so dense that they can’t see it. You won’t lose the country you love by losing one big battle...it’ll be lost by losing a million little battles.
Bitch bitch moan and groan about how pure you are and on and on and on

By all means continue to advertise how big of cuck you are.
If that's correct, I didn't realize their sales increase was that dramatic. Whatever anyone thinks about the controversies, this latest is a really stupid business move.
Has anyone seen reports of whether sales are being impacted yet?
It’s getting to the point where Corporations won’t even bother with donating to causes, because it’s becoming a “no win” situation. Just say that “we will no longer donate to any causes and instead use the resources on our core business.” In a way, that wouldn’t be a bad thing. Focus on your products. Individuals should donate to causes, not corporations.
Excellent point. At one time many things were outside of the realm of politics. No more. Thanks to the Democrat Party since Alinsky (and particularly since Obama) absolutely EVERY facet of American life has not been politicized. You either take a side and stand your ground. or you get steamrolled.
You are exactly correct. Corporate giving will be going down significantly in the near future. Of course the left will scream corporate greed is behind it.
has NOW been politicized....not not
But the story isnt hearsay - Chic-fil-a has confirmed the quotes given to the original story - its the no anti-LGBT charities line paraphrased by the articles author after the quote thats the issue and Chic-fil-as carefully worded PR response ignores it outright and defends that theyre not blocking Christian charities.
Which was never the argument and was never stated in article to begin with.
Its true that the media cant be trusted but the facts are out there for all to see.
Saying the organizations that are giving to do not have anti-LGBT positions doesn’t necessarily mean CFA supports LGBT. Supporting and tolerating should be better defined, for me, anyway. I’m a NRA member, and I donate to the NRA, The NRA doesn’t have anti-LGBT positions, but that doesn’t mean that they, or I, support the LGBT movement. Still hoping CFA can clear this up a little better..
The Left believes all “charity” should be from the Government, with them deciding who gets what.
No it wont - corporate giving to leftist causes will increase because the leftist CEOs (like Salesforce, Dicks, PayPal) dont care and, for the most part, their businesses wont take any permanent damage.
I wished Chick-fil-A will come out and say something more so we would know.
“Boy how fast we turn on a friend for making a mistake”
CFA will continue to cave and get more liberal. I don’t know of any single company turning more conservative.
Its getting to the point where Corporations wont even bother with donating to causes, because its becoming a no win situation. Just say that we will no longer donate to any causes and instead use the resources on our core business. In a way, that wouldnt be a bad thing. Focus on your products. I could live with it if all corporations did so, but the reality is that major corporations are pandering to Left-wing causes more and more while increasingly giving the finger to everyone else. I find it quite odd that a few knuckle-heads come on this thread (and other threads) to crow about how their fellow freepers are “bitching” because they want to stand up to Leftists who use corporate leverage to cram Leftism down all our throats.
But Salvation Armys official position is NOT anti-LGBT.
Chic-fil-a explicitly chose charities that are PRO-LGBT on demand of the LGBT.
Sure - restore funding to the Salvation Army as it fits under their mission guidelines of serving the homeless.
