Most of us who were there on that sunny August day will never forget. For everyone else, there's a sign: "Above this plaque is a bullet hole. It marks the heroic action taken by Family Research Council employee Leo Johnson on August 15, 2012." That was the morning Floyd Corkins walked into our lobby and changed FRC forever. He'd bought a gun and learned how to use it. He'd loaded three magazines. In his backpack was a stash of chicken sandwiches that he planned to smear in the faces of staffers he hoped to kill. "They endorse Chick-fil-A," he said. It would be a "statement against the people who work there."
Thanks to Leo, it was a statement he never got to make. Fourteen days after someone snapped a picture of our staff smiling over boxes of Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, Leo was the only thing standing between Floyd Corkins and an FRC massacre. To a lot of Americans, the company's decision to walk away from years of biblical truth is upsetting. To us, it's personal.
In the days and years after that, we never talked publicly about Chick-fil-A's response to the shooting. Mainly because there wasn't one. Through all of the press conferences, the trial, and sentencing, I never once picked up the phone or opened my email to a message from someone at headquarters. Not even to ask about Leo. Obviously, Chick-fil-A wanted then what they want publicly now: as much distance from our movement as possible.

I’ve seen the same things around the internet. It may just be that it’s so hard to believe how they pivoted so quickly and completely that many have a hard time believing it.

Chick-fil-a has a new COO, he wants to take them in a different direction. Apparently, he feels being friendly to lights causes will give them more opportunity to grow.
The FCA is the group that will be hit the hardest as they received more than a million dollars a year from CFA. The Salvation Army got in excess of $100,000. I for one started a monthly contribution to the FCA today.
Lord I wish people would realize this at long last! How do they think the Left has taken so much territory in the culture war? They've done it bit by bit by bit -- all while we sit by, shrug, and say things like "It's just a fast-food joint."
Their sales in the last year available was over $5B. I guess that was not enough to satisfy the President of the company and others so getting into the San Antonio and Buffalo airports will improve the bottom line.

Likely their board will decide opening on Sunday is a good way to counter the lost of business they will suffer before they make that decision.

Their COO, Tim Tassopoulos, has been with the company for 40 years. Started working the front counter and worked his way up.
Given that fact this decision seems VERY strange indeed.
I would have expected some exec recruited by headhunters with an MBA from some tony institution would have done this.
Those that hate you for your beliefs will never love you no matter what you do. They will only have more contempt for you and make ever increasing demands. And the left NEVER changes its mind or ways, once they hate you, you will be hated forever.

Few in business or elsewhere are up the modern equivalent of the Martyrdoms of Eleazar or of a Mother and Her Seven Sons.
I will continue to wish them well and will continue to enjoy their spicy deluxe meal with Chick-fil-A sauce and their specialty milkshakes, too. Yum!
