Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman testified on Tuesday that he bypassed his chain of command and went directly to the National Security Councils legal counsel to raise his concerns about President Donald Trumps July phone call with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky.
The implication appears to be that Vindman had an agenda, which was only strengthened by his claim in his opening statement that Trump demanded Zelensky open an investigation into former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden, though according to the White Houses partial transcript, the commander in chief did no such thing.
Republican Rep. Brad Wenstrup of Ohio - an Army Reserve officer and Iraq war veteran - and fellow Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan pressed Vindman on his decision not to follow the chain of command.

Hope you can find it.
Zelensky fired the guy after he returned from the UN Meeting in NYC.
Just wow.
Oh well. Vindman is deep state. Deep state doesn’t get in trouble, they make the rules, they enforce the rules.
Good point. The reported offer is absurd. Viewing it thru a different culture, can easily be seen as an insult (akin to Trump asking Russia for the e-mails).
The military needs to bring him up on charges. I thought he took an oath. Did he forget who his commander in chief is?
And don’t forget when Jordan mentioned that Vindman was in trouble before for leaking information, the Vindman lawyer quickly jumped in and said that, that happened before and that Vindman will not discuss it. ...Vindman has a reputation of being a leakier.
When the WH tried to make him leave the WH, Trump was blocked by some damn agency and thusly, couldn’t remove Vindman.
Thats right, cant forget that.
Sure sounds like they were both drunk.
And remember, he wears business suits...not a military uniform in all these Ukrainian encounters.
So it’s a nothing burger. Ok. I can see a that happening. Thanks.
Morrison and Volker were temporary Trump employees...
The rest of the witnesses have admitted the investigation into Burisma stopped and never started again when Biden fired that prosecutor...They all feared Guiliani/Trump digging in to Burisma and especially the events of 2016 suggesting that he was a back channel that was going to harm National Security when in fact Rudy is uncovering the corruption not only in Ukraine but the American apparatus that enabled it...
Apparently the entire foreign service leadership in Ukraine is corrupt and trying to cover for Obama/Clinton while fomenting their own agenda as it deals with Ukraine...I suspect they were all highly disappointed/scared when the new President won the election...
Such a huge divide as to what really happened between the two people involved...Vindman and Danylyuk.
I have a solution - FIRE every one of them. Why on earth in the electronic age do we have huge embassy and consular offices in every country on earth? This is a tip to bygones, like a city still employing streetlamp lighters. Too often these striped pants foreign service types end up advocating the interests of the country to which they are posted and NOT those of America. Cut the State Department, CIA and NSC in half and post most of the rest of them around the country.
Hes acting like a Russian moe.
That would be “Russian mole”.
The daily beast website crashes my tablet.
......
So now you have me confused.
Vindman gets the offer, however jokingly, then reports the offers. End of story, right?
I would make the observation (having joined the military in the late 70s) and noted the fundamental changes in the mid-90s....that officers with potential or notable achievements...got out early, and the ‘sour-cream’ achievers rose up the ranks. This is true in the General levels, and down into the O-5/O-6 levels as well. Doesn’t matter if you talk AF, Army or Navy.
I would even say that 40-percent of the O-5 level today are mostly people that can’t make it in the real world. Vindman seems to be one of those characters, and would rely upon ‘friends’ to help him out.
Vindman has to be a commie mole or sleeper agent.
Why did Ukraine offer him the Defense Minister position three times?
The first time was feeling him out, the 2nd and 3rd times could only be considered as attempted bribes and why did they even think he might be persuaded?
I wouldnt be surprised if Biden was the mastermind behind this whole thing. Did Biden have Ukraine setup Vindman as a fall guy whistle blower knowing it would blow up?
Anyone in the service who does not follow the chain of command needs to be out of the service, because they can’t be trusted.
So far, no. The perfumed princes arent doing jack. No word of a JAG even looking into it.
