Steve Bannon tried to boot alleged whistleblower Eric Ciaramella from White House

Steve Bannon, Trump's former White House chief strategist, says he worked to remove alleged Ukraine whistleblower Eric Ciaramella from the National Security Council in 2017.

Bannon added that he had worked to kick Ciaramella off the NSC during Trump’s first year in office. Bannon did not name Ciaramella, a career CIA analyst, but clearly referred to him.

There was a story in the Washington Times yesterday that tied me to the efforts to get the — at least the gentleman who was named — out of the National Security Council,” Bannon said during a Vice interview with Liz Landers last week.

It is possible Bannon was referring to a Washington Examiner article from last week that cited former National Security Council officials who said many on the NSC were suspicious of Ciaramella and believed he may have been responsible for leaking the contents of Trump’s discussions with leaders of Mexico and Australia in 2017. The sources said former national security adviser H.R. McMaster was unhappy with efforts by Bannon and others to push out Obama holdovers such as Ciaramella, who was criticized by pro-Trump writers in 2017.

When Landers asked whether it was true he had tried to remove Ciaramella, Bannon responded: “The individual that was named? Absolutely true. When I was in the White House, there was a number of people on the National Security Council — the named individual eventually got let go, I believe because people were suspicious, and not me, but other people around him, were suspicious about his leaking, so he was let go.

"But I believe you don’t need to name the person, OK? But I do believe you need a thorough investigation of his intentions, relationships he’s had, etc.”

Ciaramella, 33, has been named widely as whistle blower and has issued no denial.

Whomever it is who recommends the creatures to his administration should have been fired a long time ago.

McMaster elevated Ciaramella (to the amazement of others in the office, according to accounts) and refused to investigate source of leaks coming from his office. McMaster was at best derilict of his duties or a willing participant on the resistance stuff going on under his watch. Either way he was a bad actor in all this and a big part of ruining the Presidents first term (may there be another!)

Trump fired a lot of people early on. Clearly, he didn't fire enough of them. These people are absolute partisan scum, working for the DC elite, not the American people.

Mr. Trump, fire them ALL.

He has been paying the price since day one

Trump was hiring people in government like he hires people for his business, qualified, right education level, certs, experience. He never once cared about the people he hired if they voted for the Ds or the Rs. He falsely assumed that the people he was hiring were going to do the best job they could do.

Instead they were political operatives trying to take him down.

This is my opinion on what happened

Ranking Intell Committee member says 500 staff in NSC.

Yes and we could do without 400 of these bureaucrats that do nothing but suck off the tit of America.

Until August 2019 a "whistleblower" needed to have FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE, of the concern.

The plan to use the impeachment avenue was tweeted out by (only coincidentally, of course!) CIArmella's lawyer Mark Zaid in January of 2017.

It's obvious the choice was to use a CIA operative so the Deep State would have cover of anonymity two ways, Whistle-blower laws and crime of outing a CIA person (as with Valerie Plame), the process crime through which Scooter Libby was able to be ruined.

As these pieces were coming together and being examined, it's clear someone noted CIArmella wouldn't legitimately be covered via the WB laws, so whoops! Presto, change-o!

I agree, the WB moniker should not apply to this cabal of conspirators. It has skewed due process as badly as Kavanaugh's demanded "guilty until proven innocent." The WB changes still deserve to be investigated and we may well see people that clearly welcomed job-firing offenses.

Deep State got General Mike Flynn (a very honorable man) booted and indicted and his replacement was puke McMaster.

That's pretty much it, in a nutshell. No need for any "conspiracy" theories, the deep state is simply the sum total of dirty dealers like Brennan, profiteers like the CIA guy in Burisma, eager beaver wannabees like "Charlie", sluts like Lisa Page and psychopaths like Strzok, and shitheads like McMaster who keep it all glued together.

There’s no legal basis for hiding the WB, old rules or new. The form was not changed, always allowed second hand info. The instructions were changed, and crucially, the instruction that disallowed second hand info for “urgent” complaints, i.e. those complaints that Schiff gets and can leverage.

Neither Flynn nor McMaster were in charge of personnel decisions at the NSC, not that facts ever stop a good story around here.

The NSC Executive Secretary-Chief of Staff hires and fires. And for the entire Trump presidency that job has belonged to Keith Kellogg.

Ciaramella was assigned to the NSC in 2015. He was already there before any of the Trump staffers.
