Fox News Neil Cavuto defended his colleague Chris Wallace from an attack from President Donald Trump, telling Trump that its not the job of journalists to praise him.
What makes something fake news? Cavuto asked his audience on Your World Monday afternoon. I would assume if the news being reported is fake or wrong and the person reporting that news knows it is fake or wrong, that is bad.
But what if the news being reported is accurate, the facts are good they just sound bad? My colleague Chris Wallace has discovered again the president doesnt distinguish, he continued. Over the weekend, Trump lashed out at Wallace for giving a tough interview to House Minority Whip Steve Scalise on Fox News Sunday, whom Wallace called out for mischaracterizing testimony.
Passions run deep these days, but facts should run deeper. Even if those very facts can elicit wildly different reaction, some insisting they exonerate the resident and others adamant say they all but indict the president, Cavuto continued, calling it a pity that Trump apparently didnt care about Wallace grilling Democratic Rep. Jim Himes.
You are not the first president to say the media has it out for you. No less than press darling John F. Kennedy himself had his moments with the media, Cavuto said. We cant please all. The best we can do as journalists is to be fair to all, including you, Mr. President. Thats not fake doing that, what is fake is not doing that, what is fake is saying Fox never used to do that. Mr. President, we have always done that.
Cavuto stressed to Trump that journalists are not entitled to praise you but we are obligated to question you, and to be fair to you.

I used to be ok with Cavuto when he anchored a business show. Now he strikes me as a whiny little bitch.
Question for President Obama, “Just how AWESOME are you?!”
It is the journalist job to tell the truth and not take sides like Wallace does! It is that simple! Neil was another Fox person I use to love but over the years his true colors are showing.
So is Cavuto...
Can’t stand Neil Cavuto.
President Obama spied on journalists, hacked their computers, and put some contrary filmmakers in prison.
Journalists are only required to praise and worship Demonrats.
And they loved him for it.
Wallace was awful in that interview. He was out to get Trump no matter what. Didn’t care about facts. Didn’t care that the story might have two sides. Very shoddy journalism. He was on a mission to push The Narrative.
And that’s exactly what Fake News is all about.
Journalists are not entitled to praise...from anybody.
I heard this commentary yesterday, and I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but yes, you're exactly correct.
The President isn't necessarily looking for praise, but the media goes out of its way to report the negative about this administration.
When you scrape away the financial guru plastic veneer, Cavuto is shown to be an ordinary run of the mill presstitute
STFU, JUGHEAD!
I agree. What anyone wants is fair and balanced coverage.
“””””””Cant stand Neil Cavuto.”””””””””””””””
And his voice lately sounds like he is on his last breath.
imho, Wallce, Cavuto, Bret Baier, Juan Williams and... less obvious...some FNC reporters, John Roberts, Gillian Turner, slant comments to be negative toward Trump.
No longer watch Cavuto, Bret Baier or many other FNC shows. Fox and Friends is only show I watch each day.
I simply want media to report FACTS so we can make our own decisions. And, if they are giving their own opinions, they should say so!
Wallace is a hater. Cavuto is a hater. Baier is pretty close, and it looks like they’re grooming Ed Henry. Napolitano is just plain stupid.
Suck it up, Neil. Put your big boy pants on.
Cavuto reflects the Paul Ryan wing of Fox. The guy hates Trump, as evidenced by his knee jerk, mad dog frothing at the mouth on air responses whenever Trump takes a shot at the other Trump haters. Cavuto is a pompous @ss. I hate his voice. I cant stand to listen to him, and find it annoying that he seems to be always on the air.
