Deval Patrick, the former governor of Massachusetts, has announced that he is running for president in the 2020 race. Patrick made it official in an online video posted early Thursday morning.
Patrick was a guest on "CBS This Morning" on Thursday for his first interview following his announcement.
A CBS News contributor since September, Patrick will no longer serve in that role. "Governor Patrick has been a political contributor to CBS News but in light of this decision, the network will be discontinuing that relationship," CBS News said.

Really, any of them would need it; even the “black” Dems (Kamala, Spartacus) have little black support.
Deval although a far left progressive will be entering as a “moderate”. The Dems will make big mistake impeaching Trump. Once this goes to the Senate it becomes a Republican political show as Republicans will be able to call witnesses and have subpoena power to make this a Biden trial rather than Trump trial. They will call Hunter and Joe Biden and the partisan whistleblower and Biden will get stoned politically. The Dems will need another nominally “moderate” candidate to replace Joe. That is why you have Deval entering and Bloomberg making noises about entering.
Announcing you’re running is a brilliant way of lining your wallet quickly without doing much.
I'm sure this conversation has already taken place between the party's leadership and Cory Booker:
"Your campaign is over, dude. Black voters aren't supporting you -- probably because 'Spartacus' is a white guy's name."
Yep... Biden is as good as gone unless the faux-impeachment thing works for the dems.
Spread the wealth.
Interestingly, the New Jersey State Police have always retained something of a military-like culture, dating back to their founding in 1921 ... by Norman Schwarzkopf Sr.
I guess thy had a marked-down sale on Goering uniforms.....cackle.
I’m wondering when Danelle Malloy (ex governor of Connecticut) is going to join. I mean, he can do a great job (ruining the USA, like he did to Connecticut!)
Hopefully voters won't be as stupid as they were in 2008 and 2012.
Voters didn't know that much about Obama so his team could construct an image for him that many people bought. Patrick left more of a record, so it's going to be harder to build him up into something he isn't.
Plus, first Black president happens only once, and once it happens you can't expect people to get very excited about it. Same thing with Kamala Harris, first (sort of) Black woman president wouldn't be as big a deal as Obama was, or as Clinton would have been.
Roosevelt was popular. Eisenhower, Kennedy, Reagan. But a politician who imitated one of them and hoped to win would be labeled a copy cat pretty quickly and ignored.
