Not even a 1% chance?

Good grief!

Clearly, you have completely forgotten recent history and ignoring the fact Cocaine Mitch is a proud UniParty executive.

Cocaine Mitch’s blocking of The Wall to defend our sovereign border should be enough evidence of the above for anyone with a modicum of common sense.

But thanks for playing the game...

The DEMs have so far been successful at posing the question as an assertion that Hunter Biden's involvement in Burisma has no element of corruption - that is a settled fact in the DEM framing.

While that is how they've framed it, I'm not at all sure that it is accepted as true by most people. Real hard to slough off as nothing the Veep's son getting paid millions by the Ukrainian, then Biden bragging about getting a Ukrainian prosecutor fired.

A final thought about hearsay. Should hearsay to the benefit of Trump be admitted?

Generally, I think yes. But I think that should depend on the source and particular circumstances. I doubt the House will let it happen -- hearsay is a one-way street for them. But McConnell might.

The objective was to shrink the distance of the goal posts to whats an impeachable offense. Try to get Trump on Round 2.

"a made-for-TV gotcha."

The idea that Scott Jennings could put Impeachment = "made-for-TV gotcha" into print is disgusting on so many levels.

The insolence to the Constitution of the United States! The insipidity!

The final argument that Nancy bought for impeachment was, 'We'll ruin Impeachment as a tool of removal for a future Socialist president'.

how ever........ there is talk if rank and file congressional democrats get cold feet it might not happen.

Dems are all team players. If they think control of the Senate is possible they will happily sacrifice a few House districts to amp up the pressure on Gardner, Collins, etc.

——Dems are all team players-—

You are right of course except the precedents may no longer hold.

Taking a larger view, there is serious fragmentation in the party as evidenced by the fact there are so many presidential candidates. Putting Biden aside, the leaders in the race are radical to very radical. Biden is the perceived as the moderate. He was the actual leader. Biden has been taken out.

So, the old line more moderate democrats have no candidate.

Some are bugging Bloomberg and some have bugged Patrick. Seeing this, hillary claims they are bugging her. (she’s lying of course but her vanity forces her to tell the lie). The present field has been shown to be unacceptable by those pulling strings and providing money. To win, but at least to save party face, they are seeking another candidate.

Where you see solidarity, there is in fact serious fragmentation. At present with Pelosi barely committed to impeachment, there is in effect no actual team. There certainly is no leader. There was or maybe still is no viable Presidential candidate

We are living in a cusp of History. What was the Democrat party is no more. What will remain is far from certain

We just had 8 years of the most radical Dem POTUS in history. I am all for spinning the Dems as increasingly radical to reelect POTUS but I am not buying it at all. They’ve always taken exactly as much crazy rope as voters would give them and no less.

I watched a good bit of the hearing. And ALL of the opening statements of the witnesses.

What a couple of self important blowhards.

Definition of Deep State.

I think they got their panties in a wad because they were left out of the loop.

Schiff and Nancy will go down in history as the ones who almost single-handedly destroyed the Democrat party.

Thinking along those lines, I think the current holder of that distinction goes to Harry Reid. Yes, Harry Reid. He changed the rules of the senate to only need a simple majority for confirming judges. That has allowed President Trump to load the system with conservative judges. Given another term President trump will set records for appointment of judges, including potentially 5-6 supreme court justices.

President Trump might end up having 5 or 6 SCJs confirmed before its all said and done. Ginsburg at 86 with failing health is a sure thing. Probably Beyer, who's 81, won't last another 5 years. And then there's the health of 65 year old Sotomayor. Will she want to hang around for 5 more years if her situation gets worse? A sixth SCJ could be Clarence Thomas. If he sees the political winds might change in 2024, and he's 71 now, would he want to get out in advance of the end of President Trumps term ends so he can be replaced by another conservative?

That would be the most SCJs confirmed since FDR packed the court. Of the presidents in my lifetime, Nixon and Reagan had four and Ike had 5. (Truman also had 4)

I make observations and make a finding based on those observations. My finding is colored by input from various sources, some of which sense that the Eval Patrick and Michael Bloomberg candidacies are indication of sea change or perhaps reversion to the mean.

As the President always says......”We’ll See”

One comment I heard was that nobody remembers Schiff because he was the kid who didn’t play with the others at recess.

And if the House of Globalist Representatives passes articles of impeachment, Trump will come out the other end stronger, not weaker.

I hope you are right but I have seen educated, arguably "intelligent" people who watch CNN every day, and it's scary how they seem to fall for something that has the appearance (Potemkin Village sets, presentation etc.) of a serious news show but is 95% dishonest propaganda. When Clinton benefited from impeachment the media was on his side.

... do more than secure impeachment, which is all but certain. Their job is to conduct these hearings in a way that moves public opinion to the point that the Senate will convict the president.

GET HIM HE'S GUILTY! BECAUSE TRUMP!

But wait...

What’s alleged... doesn’t come remotely close to requiring that the president be removed from office.

So what you're really saying is IMPEACHMENT is not called for. Got it! Thanks LA Times!

One reason I say Trump would emerge stronger is that the Senate trial would not be quite as one-sided as the House/press impugn-by-jumping-to-conclusions stage we are currently watching. To the extent people switch sides, the motion would be toward Trump.

“Danville in the ‘70s was about as white bread suburban as you can get.”

Which just shows how corrupt and lost the Bay Area is when a slimy, shameless weasel like Schiff was able to defeat one of the most decent and honorable men ever to serve in the House - James Rogan ( who led the House impeachment of Clinton).
A pure case of democrat revenge.

I’ve read both of Judge James Rogan’s books. Great reading - about his life, not the Clinton impeachment. He worked as a bouncer and bartender to pay his way through college and law school.
