The student body president of the University of Florida is facing impeachment calls for alleged misuse of funds to bring Donald Trump Jr. and presidential campaign adviser Kimberly Guilfoyle to campus last month, according to reports.
Michael C. Murphy received a formal impeachment resolution on Tuesday for allegedly conspiring with a Trump campaign consultant to bring Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle to the Gainesville campus on Oct. 10, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Those who support Murphys removal claim that emails first obtained by the schools newspaper, the Independent Alligator, show that he agreed to pay the pair $50,000 in publicly funded student activity fees, which would violate rules banning use of the funds to support or oppose political campaigns.

These people are a bunch of sick weirdos
The most valuable content he will learn for $200K of student loans. I wish him luck.
That’s just wrong.
Donald Trump Jr. is not a fringe person. He’s the son of the sitting President of the United States. In the interest of reasoned public policy debate, Don should be allowed to be there.
These children are out of control.
Can we find every person who funded Obama’s trips and impeach them too?
No?
Didn’t think so...
If he was smart he would have done it towards the end of the school year where they couldn’t get him a la Billy Jeff.
The return of this pendulum to academic freedom will be glorious to watch.
When is that going to happen?
I suppose the Bernie Sanders and Bill Ayers would have been acceptable.
So...what all visits have UF student activity fees paid for between 2008 and 2016? Hmm?
Ping!...................
Come on Red. Get me on the list and Go GATORS!!
The University of Buffalo paid Hillary Clinton $275,000 to speak for 1 hour at the university in 2014.
Democrats using taxpayer money to fund campaigns of Democrats? No! Just free speech, right?
pretty funny - so he didn’t break any laws, just stupid people want to make an example of him and get their 15 minutes of fame.
And they cluck, cluck along with their major tenet, “Free speech for me, but not for thee.”
My long-dead ex is rolling in his grave. He left $millions to UF college of engineering students—with the stipulation that only American-born students could use it. We were divorced before he died, so I have no clue whether any one ever enforced that rule.
Now, of course, it would be challenged in court as “racist,” or whatever they call it. Last time I went to UF with him, we met engineering college students and I pointed out a black girl. “If she got in here (before affirmative action), she’s probably the most talented student in the bunch.” So he went over and talked to her for awhile.
And that’s what rich, extremely conservative people do.
Zounds!
Skullduggery afoot in the hallowed halls of academe?
The ace reporters of the Independent Daily Agitator are on the trail!
The Agitator was always good for liberal hyperbole and two-for-one coupons, you knew there was a good one when all the papers were taken the first day of issue.

Gainesville was a great place to live for a student in the late ‘70s.
Probably so. This sort of thing kind of challenges some people, like a read cape to a bull though.
