The only person who could have shut down Mueller would have been Trump.

In case you are not aware, Congress is the legislative branch and Mueller was part of the executive branch. Trump could have stopped it, but it definitely would have led to impeachment, so he just played it out because he had no choice.

So in case you missed the first sentence, the only person who had authority to shut down Mueller, that person was Trump.

I’m hoping that the IG and Durham reports are so big that it crushes the impeachment movement like an ant.

_______________

That would be EXCELLENT.... equal to seeing Hillary heading off to jail.

The Turtle did it when the filibuster was eliminated for SCOTUS nominees. So yes, it can be done.

Politically, McConnell needs Trump if he is to continue as the head of the Senate. He may have to do the right thing here for his own sake.

Yes, trying not to be negative about the potential on all this— reading an old article on “fast and furious” and do yo know who was the IG for the DOJ when Holder as AG was having gun dealers set up as straw buyers for machine guns then sending them to Mexico?

The IG was Horowitz.... during “fast and furious” controversy.

And, it was read somewhere (FB?) our POTUS TRUMP made the statement: “We’ve got them all. We’re draining the swamp”.

Never doubt the Man. NEVER!

V K Lee, must admit that early on there were a few bumps in the road. But it seems like the man is hitting his stride and there’s no one that can keep up with him. I can only pray that it keeps on going.

RATs want to get rid of Pres. Trump...period. In the mean time, every second of every minute of every hour of every day is used to deflect, defer, harass, sue and stop Pres. Trump’s agenda until he is gone. It started on election night when the MSM wouldn’t call states for Pres. Trump even though HRC had no path to win that state. It hasn’t let up since.

I do not put it past the house reps to have 15 (or how many)articles of impeachment(Alcee Hastings had 17), submit a few at a time. Make the Senate go thru a trial. Wash\rinse repeat.

Gotta keep the senate.
Re-take the House, if possible...
Re-elect Pres. Trump.

/rant off

I don’t think it matters, the hard truth is McConnell is going to grant an immediate motion to dismiss, which will pass 51-49ish, or possibly 51-50 with Pence getting the final word before voting to dismiss.

Pence doesn't preside over the Senate in an impeachment trial of the President; Chief Justice Roberts does. U.S. Constitution, Article II, section 3.

As Mark Levin points out (on a different topic but the logic should apply all the same) the objection would be made, but then the Senate can vote using only a 50% majority to over-rule the decision.

exactly
