They must "appeal to working-class Trump voters in order to win the state in 2020."

None of their current slate of candidates have the potential to do this IMHO.

Maybe Fauxahontas. But only if the banks do something stupid between now and then which put voters in a mood to punish them.

The key states in 2020 will be those which decided things in 2016. Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, New Hampshire, Minnesota are key states. Any other battleground states? Arizona turning purple? Of these states, Trump carried almost all of these in 2016, and they collectively gave him victory.

Whichever candidate carries the bulk of these states will be elected president.

It seems that we can pencil in well over 30 of the 50 states right now, as to which party is going to carry the state in 2020, without even knowing who the Democrat nominee will be.

In 2018, they chose a Republican for Congress, and this year, the county went blue in its municipal elections.

Fitzpatrick isn't a Republican. He just calls himself one.

Fraud in deep Philadelphia, Scranton and Pittsburgh are the biggest threats to Trump.

In 2020, the Democrats will make sure 102% of registered voters select the Democrat candidate....no matter who it is.

Just as Obama won precincts in Philadelphia over Romney by 100% to 0% (not a single vote for Romney), the fraud in 2020 will be bigger as those precincts will register more votes than they have voters.

If you don’t mind ( and only if you choose to do so ), I’d like to know which 30 states these are...

Don’t know how much the Prez can do. With all his Rat enemies, press and rinos, it’s easy to see how average American’s could be negative about him. Most people rely on press, broadcast stations and some cable to get their news. I doubt if they pay much attention to political events until very close to the election and are not political junkies like myself and most of the Freepers. IMO

Voter Fraud is Trump’s ONLY opponent in 2020.

Bullspit.

PA is not in play... TRUMP WAS NOT ON THE BALLOT... remember that...

this is the same stupidity that lead these same flappy lip morons to tell you that Hillary would win PA by 10 points in 16...

The pundits still don’t understand remotely how and why Trump won in 16, but they are going to tell you how its going to play out in 2020?

Please...

First of all the Supreme Court of PA redistricted the state, handing the Democrats 3 districts they could not lose with their unconstitutional usurp of legislative power.. turning 3 red seats instantly blue.

Secondly TRUMP IS NOT ON THE BALLOT... the Punditry still seems to be unable to comprehend that the TRUMP BASE IS NOT THE REPUBLICAN PARTY BASE!!! Yes, they overlap.. Yes, Republicans are going to vote for TRUMP... but TRUMPS base is well beyond the GOP base, and just because a Democrat won some mid term or special election off year vote, does NOT mean they will win that district when TRUMP IS ON THE BALLOT!..

Democrats are DEPSPERATE for PA to be in play, so they are going to make that claim no matter the realities.. but the realities are.. PA IS NOT IN PLAY.

The traditional GOP base can get you about 2.6 to 2.7 Million votes in PA regardless of who you run these days.

Trump put up 2.97 Million votes as a unknown entity that was fear mongered by the Democrats, and the establishment. 2020 he is not an unknown, and he has delivered.... PA unemployment is the lowest on record.... Folks in fly over country know damned well why.. and if you think they are going to PUNISH Trump for that you are crazy....

Trumps BASE is the GOP base, plus a lot of lifetime Democrats and Disenfranchised voters... last election a lot stayed home because they thought Trump was a fraud, or they voted for Hillary because of her fear mongering.. this time, that won’t be the case, expect Trump to boost his vote totals here by several hundred thousand votes, and no democrat running can win here...

PA is not in play... its laughable for the claims they are making

I’ll try, just off the top of my head, these states will vote Democrat in 2020:

Washington, Oregon, California, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, Illinois, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine.

These states will vote for Trump in 2020:

Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Missouri, West Virginia.

Sorry if I left out some, as noted, this is just off the top of my head.

If I missed any, please let me know.

If anyone disagrees with this lineup of states which are solid for either Trump or the Democrat, please chime in as well.

Trump will win all the states he did in 2016 and a few more. All this is chatter and alphabet networks trying to sell soap. It's extremely hard to beat a popular incumbent President with a fat war chest and a built in 40% support. The Democrats are Arkansas State getting ready to tee it up versus the New England Patriots. They are not fielding a serious cadre of candidates this go around, sans Tulsi Gabbard. We have a bunch of boutique interest losers and a guy 20 years past his prime to win anything on his own. I am not saying we can mail it in, but unlike 2016, really not much in doubt this time. I think the impeachment stuff falls apart and by Summer next year even the Democrats will be resigned to just being a minority resist party.

Pa will go fro Trump again. Tom Wolff is a feckless invisible lame duck Governor and the Democrat party is a moribund version of their 1970's selves here in PA. Wolff did not deliver on his one huge campaign promise...getting fracking stopped. He was smart and went all Bob Casey here and disappeared.

That's fine. If we had more RINOs in office, Trump would not be on the brink of impeachment and not be hassled every day, with multiple House committee investigations - about a dozen of them constantly harassing and making the WH produce literally millions of documents.

All this takes time from actually accomplishing things.

I don't like RINOs, but there are many areas of the country where only RINOs can win - such as Susan Collins in Maine.

It was predicted by most everyone if the House flipped in 2018, the Dem House would torment Trump with investigations and impeachment. That was an easy call, too.

Still, there are many who are glad the RINOs are gone and proudly did not vote for their RINO. Incredible shortsightedness and the inability to understand basic politics. I have a feeling Trump does not agree with their approach.

We all know the Democrats will commit massive vote fraud in PA and other key states, but what can be done to stop it? The Democrats are this country’s only real enemy. Any so called foreign tampering with our voting process had Democrats in the background approving it as long as it would benefit them. When Hillary lost those people became convenient scapegoats to blame and to be used as straw men in their impeachment fraud!

Salena Zito is an excellent reporter, especially when it comes to PA. We shall see when the time comes, but her reporting is worthy of respect.

NOTHING is a slam dunk

We live in a country where the vast machine of progressive-left government at all level, and its network of cronies, insiders, fellow-travelers, paid ideologues and dependents are funded by massive amounts of debt in a completely printed, fiat currency, at near zero interest rates.

Anyone opposed to this will be swimming upstream against Niagara Falls.

I live in PA, I called not only PA, but WI, MI as well back in 16....

The reporting here is incomplete and garbage.

Portraying the Dem pickup as a voter revolt against Trump when it is not.

As I stated, a forced redistricting by the state supreme court handed 3 seats to the Dems... a fact conveniently ignored in this article when it tries to argue the house seat shift.

PA is NOT in play. Those that thing it is, are the same folks who couldn’t see Trump was going to march right through here to the White House in 16, when it was clear as day the minute he announced and made Trade and Immigration his platform, that his target was squarely this part of the country and he would win it.

I live in PA, trust me, Trump is NOT losing PA... its not in play.

Trump’s base is NOT the GOP BASE... believing any election where Trump is not expressly on the ballot is an indication of what will happen when he is, shows the person making the claims is clueless.

Democrats don’t take Pennsylvania. They take Pittsburgh and Philadelphia and enough of their suburbs, and the rest of the state comes along with it. Anything which turns any of those areas bluer is not good news for the Republicans.

Still doing plenty of damage though. He just signed us up to be part of some carbon emissions control scheme with other states. Republicans in the Legislature surely don't have the stones to do anything about that, and our electric bills will necessarily skyrocket. I fully expect that he'll pardon Mumia Abu Jamal on his way out the door.

‘It seems that we can pencil in well over 30 of the 50 states right now, as to which party is going to carry the state in 2020’

quite so, except it’s more than 30; 270towin shows d’s 248, r’s 204, with 86 still up for grabs...the 86 ev’s comprise five states and one congressional district...

The real problem with Philly and surrounding areas is the fact that in many elections, they vote at 104%. This has been proven.

In reality, most polling precincts vote at 55-65%, when it is more than that it is very fishy.

Any thing approaching 85-90% is definitely demonRAT driven. I have worked as a poll watcher in W PA since 2000 and I know how corrupt the demonRATs are.
