Mayor Pete Buttigieg celebrated Veterans Day on Monday, promising to change the motto of the Veterans Affairs to make it more gender inclusive.
The motto for Veterans Affairs is featured on a plaque on the federal building in Washington, DC, featuring a quote from President Abraham Lincoln’s second inaugural address in 1865: “To care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow, and his orphan.”

I guess that means he might appoint his Husband or Wife (Depending on who the sender or receiver is)to head the VA. That way he will have both based covered. Oh, excuse me, I forgot the Transgenders. Give me a break!

I don’t remember the context, but I do remember David Brinkley commenting on the political discourse of his day by saying it was like being picked apart by ducks. Look at the serious challenges that face this country, and this meathead wants to dink around with the a motto because he feels some people might feels excluded by it. That’s certainly something someone who aspires to be Most Powerful Man (or should I say Person) in the World shouldn’t be wasting his time on.
Now, a more worthy challenge for Pete, which I am sure he will sidestep because he has no answer to the problem, is how to make the VA a place of real quality healthcare for our veterans. What say you, Petey?
