Socialist medicine is all about eliminating individual choice (i.e. freedom) and replacing it with “societal good” as defined by experts in government. A quote follows from the leftist bioethicist Zeke Emanuel, one of Obamacare’s architects and a prominent proponent of socialized medicine, regarding the rationing of healthcare to the young and the old. Notably Mr. Emanuel, currently age 62, has been outspoken about favoring the end of life at age 75.
“When implemented, the Complete Lives system produces a priority curve on which individuals aged between roughly 15 and 40 years get the most substantial chance, whereas the youngest and oldest people get chances that are attenuated... The Complete Lives system justifies preference to younger people because of priority to the worst-off rather than instrumental value.”
