WASHINGTON (AP) Michael Bloomberg plans to skip early voting states like Iowa and New Hampshire if he launches a presidential bid and instead focus his efforts on the crush of states that vote on Super Tuesday and beyond. Its a strategy that acknowledges the limitations of his likely entry into the race at this late stage and the opportunities afforded by the billionaires vast personal wealth.
Bloomberg adviser Howard Wolfson says other candidates already have a big head start in the first four states to vote Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina and Bloomberg needs to be realistic about where he can make up ground.
If we run, we are confident we can win in states voting on Super Tuesday and beyond, where we will start on an even footing, Wolfson said. Fifteen states and American Samoa vote in the March 3 contests.
After previously ruling out a 2020 bid, Bloomberg is reconsidering a run for the Democratic nomination, citing concerns about the ability of the current crop of contenders to defeat President Donald Trump. Hes expected to announce a final decision in the coming days.
Bloombergs team has moved swiftly to carve out space for the former New York City mayor. Bloomberg himself has called prominent Democrats to alert them to his likely run, and his staff is scrambling to meet fast-approaching primary filing deadlines.

Bloomberg is now the "establishment candidate".
And frankly, I believe Democrats are desperate enough to nominate him.
Sounds like Bloomingidiotberg really isn’t serious about running. Seeking cheap publicity?
Still wondering if its a message to Warren: knock of the soak the rich rhetoric or Ill knock you out of the race.
Gnarly little NY liberal won't even get the states Hitlery won.
Please be a brokered convention, please be a brokered convention, that would be so awesome
Gloomy Bloomy, Butt Jiggle, Quid Pro Joe, Pocahontas, Crooked Hillary, Heart Bern, this is going to be one heck of a primary
Might as well pass on those too.
I find it comical that Bloomberg is registering for the Alabama primary.
He will come in next to last, just above the queer
The Dem Establishment needs MONEY....
Those Chesapeake waterfront mansions and Maseratis dont pay for themselves, you know. The current candidate crop are not attracting the Billionaire Bucks. The two biggest Dem donators, are sick of wasting money giving it to the Corruptocrats, so they are spending it on themselves, instead.
I wonder if the can find Anthony Wiener and see if he would like to run for president?
I mean, why not at this point?
He could get Eric Holder to be his vice President
Bloomberg must have delusions of grandeur if he thinks that strategy will work.
He could be trying to be a spoiler...
Super Tuesday events:

Please do it. The ‘rat meltdown would be epic.
Definitely a message to Sleepy Joe to quit now...
Spending more dollars per vote that Jeb Bush!
I disagree. The "moderate" plank, and I use the term loosely, was quid pro joe's alone in the dem clown car. Now that primary vote for "moderates" is split between bloomturd and slo' joe, it favors scolding grey beaver or one of the other goofy communists.
Well, he is following the road....thinking that he can pull this off like Trump. Will not work. But it will be fun to watch. Outeide of New York, he is not appreciated.
Yeah. Best for him to hide behind the media’s skirts as long as he can.
The CA move to Super Tuesday makes that date EVERYTHING for the nomination.
You have to do Iowa and NH and he’s skipping that. He will spend a lot of money on advertising till people are sick of his ads.
He’s not a very dramatic speaker, he’s short, and I guess we will see if he draw any crowds. I don’t see Bloomberg having the energy to campaign like Trump.
He’s also very Anti-Second Amendment.
Joe’s out.
As usual, he’s the last to know.
The Nation called for him to get out. Just today.
