Its now official. Former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions is a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Alabama, a seat he once occupied prior to going to serve in President Donald Trumps administration in 2017.
Earlier in the evening, Sessions campaign website went live, and he published his first campaign video, which was featured in his announcement on Fox News Channels Tucker Carlson Tonight.
During that appearance, Sessions addressed his desire to run and his falling out with Trump. Sessions told Carlson that he hoped to have an opportunity to discuss his campaign with Trump.

He was Trump's biggest mistake.
No, he doesn’t. Instead of going after confessed criminals, he recused himself from most of his job and promoted massive civil asset forfeiture.
Screw him.
He supported Trump’s agenda so much he did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to forward that agenda. Gotta give it to the Deep Staters...they have brass ba!!$
You’re such a comedian - I said that when President Trump endorses sessions (if he refuses to endorse or endorses someone else, I’ll go with his call), I’ll also back him by sending a contribution - we “knew better than the president” when we gave the Alabama seat away and it looks like you still think you know better than him.
We have already proved that when be buck what Trump proposes, bad things happen.
Another factoid - about 95% of the folks who talk down their noses at those who actually provide support instead of platitudes tend to never seem to think anything is worth investing themselves n via their own donations - their opinions are worth what they invest.
Time for Jeff to retire...
I swore off out of state donations after the betrayal by Rubio.
Trump has endorsed Romney and McCain, how did that work out?
“I swore off out of state donations after the betrayal by Rubio.”
Trump “endorsed” Romney to replace Hatch in order to keep the seat, at least on paper, on our side of the aisle - he also supposedly urged Hatch to run one more time to keep Romney out.
And when he “endorsed” McCain, he also made the statement:
“I need a Republican Senate and a House to accomplish all of the changes that we have to make, the New York billionaire said. So I embrace the wisdom that my 80 percent friend is not my 20 percent enemy.
When the chips are down, the lesser of two evils, especially when the other evil is unapologetically hard-core left wing and will vote against you 100% of the time, is the only way to go - if one is goal-oriented and plans on making at least a bit of lemonade from the detritus available.
Sane people already know all this....
So, I take it you are not from California so FR is “across State lines”...
I donate to every freepathon.
We will never Make America Great Again by re-electing the same people who created this mess.

The “chips were down” in 2016. And the immediate past GOP POTUS nom supported Hillary Rotten Criminal and her leftist SCOTUS over President Trump, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh. The “chips were down” in 2017 in the Alabama Senate race. The GOP establishment preferred the progressive Democrat to the GOP nom.
Can you see the pattern yet? It’s the GOP openly campaigning for progressive Democrats like Hillary & Doug Jones. Not grassroots conservatives critical of Sleepy Sessions.
I really liked Sessions as a Senator! But, as AG, he was worthless!!! Which Sessions will the new Senator be? The worthless POS or the conservative Senator we liked?
Im afraid youre correct! But, wishful thinking....
Sorry, but I trust Sessions as much as I trust Richard Shelby. I never thought that I would say that.
If it comes down to Sessions and Tommy Tuberville, I will support Tuberville. As a dedicated Alabama fan, that is saying a lot.
Sessions needs to retire.
Than who?
He knew Sessions intent regarding recusal and could have pulled the nomination. He didnt.
Thats right. President Trump wanted everything to happen pretty much exactly as it has happened. Including Sessions recusal. Including the witch hunt. Including the impeachment.
The Democrats have not laid a glove on him - instead they have hurt themselves badly by allowing themselves to be baited into the most disgraceful and childish partisan behavior imaginable - all while the American people are watching.
President Trump orchestrated this whole thing knowing that if he gave them an excuse, the Democrats would not be able to resist going for the kill, and knowing that doing so would brutally backfire on them. Thats why he jokingly asked the Russians to find the 33K Clinton emails. Thats why he tweeted a lot of things he tweeted. Thats why yesterday he named the whistleblower. Thats why he fired Sessions. He does all these things to bait the Democrats into doubling down on their failed impeachment attempt.
President Trump is so much smarter than the Democrats - he WANTS the Democrats to beat him to a bloody pulp, so the American he can see the Democrats true nature. The American people will protect him from these nasty Democrats in 2020.
POTUS has the Democrats and the fake news totally fooled - but apparently he has fooled a lot of FReepers too.
I think as Election Day approaches it will become increasingly clear what President Trump has been up to this whole time. He has been the one stoking this fire from the beginning - because it allows him to enjoy the political advantageous status of being the outsider, fighting against the DC establishment - even three years into his Presidency!
Sorry, but I trust Sessions as much as I trust Richard Shelby. I never thought that I would say that.

It really is sad. In his time Sessions was my favorite Senator. We should thank him for giving POTUS Stephen Miller.
But did you watch his interview with Tucker? Tip toeing through the tulips like a useless Senator. Still completely unwilling to take ownership of his role in the ongoing coup and lighting rockets under the do-nothing GOP Senate. Incredibly, he referred to the coup in the past tense.

Yep. No doubt POTUS wanted the GOP to lose the House after Paul Ryan retired early in office and gift wrapped the House to Pelosi.
Go ahead and be sarcastic - President Trump will wind up being the most successful two-term conservative POTUS in a very long time, and it wont have happened through luck or by accident - he distracts and outsmarts his adversaries by sending them on wild goose chases and baiting them into traps.
And apparently even some of his some of his supporters here on FR are fooled.
This do-nothing stinky swamp critter was already in the Senate...20 years is enough...
claims to have our presidents back?
Or Sessions should learn to code.
