It’s because this is who we have become. Everyone wants to pay cops 30 grand a year to take out the trash and then stab them in the back when they get dirty doing it. Not one single person has offered an answer to the question you have placed before them. All they have is criticism and cowardice.
A lot of people fall for the, “Leave me alone” defense, as if the person trying to get them under control is the real instigator of the problem.
Toss in comments of “don’t”, “you’re hurting me”, and people go weak kneed.
Never mind that compliance at any stage would have made this completely unnecessary.

I didn’t watch the video, but when I was a classroom teacher (briefly, before I ran screaming), there were 11 year olds I would have gladly slammed to the ground. And their lives today would be better for it.
