The Libertarians ensured a pro-abortion socialist defeated a strong conservative just because he would not legalize marijuana.

I have bounced between Libertarianism for a while now, but I have come to understand that Libertarianism is to the Right as Communism is to the Left.

Our ideal, but ultimately unobtainable and unachievable society.

All the self-righteous, condescending Losertarians ever do is help Democrats get elected. They’re a bunch of virtue signaling idiots.

I was once active in the Libertarian Party. I gave it up.

The Libertarian Party would be far more effective if it were a club similar to the National Rife Association.

Maybe Bevin should just refuse to concede and go around saying he is the real winner - it seems to be working for Stacy Abrams in Georgia. She just refuses to go away, like Hilary.

Libertines did not cost Bevin the win, Bevins cost Bevins the win. Every single GOP state wide office got 100,000 more votes then Bevin. A large number of GOP voters went and voted straight GOP except for Bevin.

That what you get when you insiste on running a bad candidate GOPE instead of cutting your dead wood.

“The Libertarians ensured a pro-abortion socialist defeated a strong conservative just because he would not legalize marijuana. “

That sounds like he was out of touch with his potential electorate.

That’s on him.

Well then the conservative was an idiot! Where pots not legalized, CBD/today’s snake oil, is selling all over the place in all forms. Meaning People want it. Kentucky used to grow tobacco, imagine what good weed it could grow and it might even help the local economy too.

I noticed that Rand Paul, with his "libertarian touch", didn't say a word about Bevin at the rally.

Thanks Rand.

If the re-count vindicates Bevin, they’ll have something to light up for.

Libertarians are pro sodomy.
They’re basically fags.

“Don’t ask don’t tell,” and, “What two consenting adults do in their own bedroom..” has led us to drag queen MAGA and trans-library read-alongs for elementary school kids. A complete disaster.

Nothing wrong with being libertarian, but voting for a Libertarian in a close race is not wise.

I would vote for legal marijuana but never for a libertarian. I hope the Rs wake up on this issue over the next year.

I really think the P.O.’d teachers’ unions were a much bigger factor than pot, in the overall vote. The Libertarians may have been the proverbial “straw”, but the main drag on Bevin was mishandling of the the pension issue: Bevin got tagged with the poor way the Pubs leadership in the KY State House and Senate handled the legislation, and his legal team gave him poor advice on some of the legalities, as well. Bevin was the only Pub who really got linked solidly to that issue.

The good news is that Beshear will now be hamstrung by the unsolved pension issue too (see: Quinn, Illinois), and, assuming the new KY AG is worth 2 cents, he can tie up Beshear in all sorts of fun ways, too. Beshear is really pretty isolated...

Oh, now I understand what is important to Libertarians, the only group weaker than GOP leadership. It's the opportunity to taste a bodily fluid when they help the Left succeed.

Eventually, however, when Libertarians step out of their emotional haze of mental discordance that "Liberty" and "Leftism" are at opposite ends of the political spectrum, and that helping the Left win elections produces results they purport to abhor, they'll discover the bodily fluid they tasted wasn't tears.
