President Trump is going to Louisiana on Wednesday to rally his supporters to vote out the only Democrat holding a statewide office there. The race pits John Bel Edwards, the only Democratic governor in the South, against businessman Eddie Rispone.
Edwards initially held a slight advantage, but the outcome has become a tossup since Edwards fell shy of the 50% he needed to avoid the November runoff.
How to watch the Louisiana Trump rally What: President Trump rally Date: Wednesday, November 6, 2019 Time: 8 p.m. ET Location: Monroe Civic Center Monroe, Louisiana Online stream: Watch in the video player above
More From CBS:
"Louisiana, get out and Vote Early for @EddieRispone as your next Governor. Lower Taxes and car insurance. Will protect your 2nd Amendment. John Bel Edwards is always fighting our MAGA Agenda. Wants to raise your taxes and car insurance to the sky. Vote for Republican Eddie R!," he tweeted on Monday.Rispone, a millionaire construction magnate and prominent GOP donor making his first bid for public office, often paints himself as a Trump-like outsider who wouldn't be a "politically correct" governor. He contrasts his image with Edwards by frequently associating him with the establishment and pointing out that he was a superdelegate for Hillary Clinton in 2016.
Edwards, however, is socially conservative on some key issues, including abortion. He was part of a wave of governors this year who signed a bill to ban abortions after six weeks. Louisiana which could become the first state without legal abortion access, depending on the outcome of a Supreme Court case has the highest percentage of people who believe all forms of abortion should be illegal.
Trump won the state of Louisiana in 2016 with 58% of the vote.
Only five governors in Louisiana's history have won a second term.
He's the James Brown of politics, i.e. busiest man in the business.
Monroe Civic Center
Monroe, LA
I bet he flies in on the 757, cuz monroe international ain’t the biggest ;-) It does handle commercial jet traffic.
Congrats to Monroe for going big time.
Hope there’s not too many ‘woke’ students at what used to be NLU.
Thanks for the reminder. You do good work.

The president is warming up for 2020. He has more energy than most people twenty or thirty years younger than him.
Any of you Freepers down Monroe, Louisiana way got any photos of early birds, waiting for the Trump rally this evening you can post?

Would just like to tell everyone that, I FINALLY RAN OUT OF ALL MY GILETTE RAZOR BLADES!
Threw away the razor I had, and went to CVS with a discount coupon, and BOUGHT MYSELF A SCHICK RAZOR and some extra blades.
I got their new razor that has some kind of hydrating action.
Really great razor and blades.
GOODBYE TO GILETTE FOR EVA!!!!!
BRAVO nikos!!!! Glad you liked your new razor how dare they try to feminize YOU!!!!
I got an electric razor. It’s okay, but doesn’t shave as closely as the disposable shavers I used for many years. I still use the disposables if I have more than a couple days of whiskers that need to be removed.
All I gotta say is it’s harder and harder to find photos over the past couple weeks especially....I suspect the social media sites, google images and others are shutting out what they once allowed.
The nearest runway that would handle Air Force one 747 is Barksdale next to Shreveport. The Temporary flight restrictions are centered on Monroe, thus it will not be the 747 but something smaller.
FYI:.....The last time a sitting president has been to Monroe was over 36 years ago!
Thanks again, Nikos!
I went to NLU from ‘99 to ‘04. It wasn’t anywhere near to being woke at the time.
I’ll assume the Duck Dynasty Family from West Monroe will be there. I’ll have to watch the pre show on RSBN.
ha! good for you Nikos... and as you are a rather gourmet cook, you know to STOP buying and using spenzy spices! Their public trashing of DJT on Facebook is awful
Thanks for the thread. Ive missed the last several rallies. Spirit is willing but flesh is weak and Im usually sleeping quite early
Hugs hon and hope you’ll be able to keep up the threads with your busy schedule.
Interesting about planes and limitations. I thought he had to go on AF1... but are the smaller planes adaptable to the communication and other needs?
