On the MS Gulf coast, my area has the paper ballots and gives you a manila folder to hold it in while waiting to scan. The manila folder doesn't offer any secrecy when the line waiting for a place at the table snakes all around the table and gets tangled up with the line waiting for the scanner.
Why even pretend to have a secret ballot? /s
