weird state..they hated obamas guts, yet in 2007 and 2011,they elected a far left loon twice as Gov...and it was Beshear’s father..just odd.

And West Virginia Democrats voted for Joe Manchin because he was one of them, whereas the Republican came across as an outsider.

Yes, of course, but the media was just itching for this so they could do wall to wall coverage on how it is “over” for Trump. They got it. Doesn’t matter if it is true or not - it gives them another full news cycle of material to use for negative stories to damage Trump and try to demoralize GOP voters.

I didn’t follow this race at all. I thought Bevin was a real conservative. How do you lose the governorship in a red state? There’s always been governors that don’t seem to fit the state. Doesn’t make sense.

“People who will constantly give you what itching ears want to hear for the sake of getting in that moment what they want from that individual at that time, this is not what the greatness of America was built on,” Bevin said, according to the Kentucky politics website Pure Politics.

WTH would people think this refers to Trump - who promises what he intends to deliver, and does NOT cater his speech to curry favor. It's odd, to me at least.

Thank you.

Yours is the only kind of post that is truly useful to us. Every state has things about it the local FReepers know and the national ones have never heard of (thanks to incompetent, biased media).

Enlightening post.

[Let me be clear: this was not a stunning upset. The Republican incumbent is a total prick. He alienated teachers, he alienated black voters, he alienated conservatives in Northern Kentucky by advocating By advocating for a toll on a bridge that crosses the Ohio River. He was a bad fit for the state of Kentucky. He wore custom made suit and gold cufflinks in a rural, southern state. The Republicans absolutely swept the down ballot races. They swept the state wide races. Only the dopey governor couldn’t win this election.]

Did Bevin do any local events, or was the entire campaign done from 50,000 feet with an ad blitz?

Come on. Kentucky isn’t just flannel and bare feet.
We even have a computer out yonder.

[That absurd announcement on toll roads in Northern Kentucky was alone enough votes to swing the race against him in the end in a race he made close that didn’t have to be.]

That’s an extremely out of touch thing to do. I suspect the one thing that is hated as much as poll taxes is toll roads.

Democrats fix elections too in WA State

They fix them using the state’s most populous county, King County. The King County elections office was revealed to be fixing the elections in a 2004 court case but the Democrat judge ruled that although the county elections office was shown to be fixing the elections, enough to flip election results, there wasn’t any means of proving in which the direction election was fixed. What a JOKE!

BUT ... in WA State, not only is the governor election fixed, so are its two US Senators.

It begs the question how democrats in KY are able to fix a governor’s race but not other races. It may be that KY is not yet as corrupt as WA State, not having yet perfected the crime of vote fraud.

Kentucky has the same probs as many other red states, with only a couple large libtard cities fuching it up for the rest of the state.

Special congratulations to the libertarian candidate who stole seven times the margin of loss from the Republican.

Libertarians need a stern talking to for 2020.

Re: “Beshear had a 17 point lead 2 weeks ago. Upset would have been Trump dragging Bevin to the win.”

Do you have a link to that poll? Thanks.

I can only find these two polls, where Bevin is leading or tied.

Sunday, November 3 - Trafalgar Group - Bevin 52, Beshear 47

Wednesday, October 16 - Mason-Dixon - Bevin 46, Beshear 46
