Yes, the numbers don’t make sense, a statistical anomaly.

I thought KY was solid Republican?

In 2016, Donald Trump easily carried Kentucky with 62.52% of the vote, to 32.68% of the vote for Hillary Clinton, a margin of 29.84%.

Good job, Bevin.

Don’t underestimate the determination of the KEA.

The teachers throughout the state would have crawled over broken glass to vote Bevin out of office. There seemed to be more “Stop Bevin” yard signs than ones that said “Vote for Beshear”.

They could care less if his replacement is corrupt; they just want Bevin gone.

Bevin = one of the former Nevertrumpers

Bevin, who was elected governor last year, delivered a speech on Saturday that was widely viewed as anti-Trump, even if he did not use the real estate mogul’s name.

“People who will constantly give you what itching ears want to hear for the sake of getting in that moment what they want from that individual at that time, this is not what the greatness of America was built on,” Bevin said, according to the Kentucky politics website Pure Politics.

“When we talk about the greatness of America, I will tell you, while there are many who would tell us otherwise, America is great,” he added.

The Libertarians gave the Rat the win.

What can you do, people apparently love to throw away their Vote for a higher cause I guess. Not sure what that cause is though.

Republican candidates swept all the down ballot races in Kentucky. It was like the election in Maryland in 2018. Maryland voters, who are mostly Democrats, voted for a Republican governor at the top of the ticket and then voted straight down the party line on the down ballot. The fact that Bevan came within one point of winning is stunning. He is a complete prick who does not fit the state.

Cameron won the AG race by double digits. Bevin may have been unpopular, but I smell fraud in the governor’s race. Perfect narrative being set for the MSM to crow that Trump is in trouble next year. You can smell this dirty s**t a mile away!

Yep! I drive a rig all up and down the east coast and some west, New York to Maine, Virginia, Carolinas, Kentucky, Tennessee and I ALWAYS see pro-Republican signs on peoples lawns RARELY see pro Democrat, yet Democrats win? BullSHT they win! The most obvious to me was Massachusetts in the 2016 election. They had me drives all over that state and the pro Trump signs out there were insane, all over the place everywhere. Yet Hillary won the state? Bullsht she won!

West Virginia gave Donald Trump his biggest margin of victory out of any state in 2016 -- 68% to 26%

And yet registered Democrats outnumber registered Republicans there.

He is a complete prick. He was a bad fit for the state of Kentucky in the first place. Men in Kentucky do not wear custom made suit, gold cufflinks, and Italian wingtips. They also don’t go to the tanning bed. The fact that down ballot Republicans won convincing victories for Republicans suggest that the Republicans had a great turn out, but could not stomach the governor.

Beshear’s margin of victory is ~4600 votes. Out of nearly 1.45 million votes cast.

A look at the NYT county map Beshear clobbered Bevin in the 3 counties with the 3 largest cities in the state. In the counties with these 3 large cities in them Bevin was stomped so badly it is astonishing.

That said, Bevin for whatever reason is highly unpopular.

He was ranked as one of the MOST unpopular governors in the country. Not up on Kentucky politics so I don’t know why.

That this race was this competitive is likely solely due to President Trumps visit to the state.

Only way the President would be in trouble would be due to over-the-top, unprecedented, cheating and fraud.

There are many things he did to himself to disadvantage himself - Beshear didn’t win the race as much as Bevin lost it. The down ballot results make that abundantly clear. Looks like final margin will be about 5,000 votes or so. That absurd announcement on toll roads in Northern Kentucky was alone enough votes to swing the race against him in the end in a race he made close that didn’t have to be. Like he was trying to finish himself off.

Bevin routinely went places wearing shirt and jeans so your comments about how he regularly dressed isn’t accurate but the rest you’ve got it spot on.

"Can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear."

Noting that I’m not aware of Democrats pulling sex-harrassmant card with Bevin like they did with Roger Moore, did PDJT go against his better judgment supporting Biven like he did with Moore? PDJT sounded so enthusiastic about Biven last night.
