Like many other Republican and conservative voters in California, the retired couple have decided to leave the state. A major reason, Stark and her spouse say, is their disenchantment with deep-blue California’s liberal political culture.
Despite spending most of their lives in the Golden State, they were fed up with high taxes, lukewarm support for local law enforcement, and policies they believe have thrown open the doors to illegal immigration.

Left a week ago and I’m as conservative as anyone here. So happy to get out and live in a conservative area. Just because some of your states are turning blue don’t blame it on the conservatives leaving CA.
We sold a house 3 years ago and made over 150k and did not have to pay any taxes on it.
We owned the house for over 23 years. It sold for a bit over 4 times what we paid for it. In the heart of Silicon Valley near Apple in one of the best public school districts in the country. Yes, we far exceeded the exemption on selling a house as far as Federal and California capital gains were concerned.
Putting our home on the market after the holidays. We are moving to Arkansas.
Hubby is a life long Californian. I’m a Texan and have wanted to leave for awhile.
Nope. I’m more conservative because I have first hand knowledge of how democrats policies have ruined this state.

A vivid example.....In freep land alone there probably have been 200 or so freepers who've bailed out of CA in the past decade or so. Don't listen to those who alleged it's folks from CA who are ruining their own states. For the most part, it's BS.
Old man Bush was the last Republican presidential candidate to win California in 1988. That was just thirty years ago, but look what has happened in such a short time to that once great state. The Democrats have taken over and f**ked up the state royally.
The POF family, too. I’m retired; Mrs. POF works another year. We are SO disgusted with California for so many reasons: radical leftist one-party government; cesspool cities; bums and needles everywhere; graffiti everywhere; stratospheric taxes; downright mean, rude and insolent people; illegals now on government commissions and boards; sky-high payments to illegals; “sanctuary” violations of federal law; staggering traffic; out-of-control prices for everything; English no longer spoken in our small town; insane government pissing away over $10 BILLION on a toy train that nobody will ever use (even if it is completed); people who we could once have counted on as friends joined “the resistance” to overthrow Trump and end the peaceful transition of power; anti 2A; Pelosi, Eshoo, et all in Congress. I could go on and on and on.
Like anywhere in the country that Californians are moving to, here in North Idaho the people are scared to death of wealthy liberal Californians moving in.
Wonder how we get some California conservatives to come to South Carolina to counter the Northern State migration. A lot of the people that move here from Northern States and South Fla are brining their left politics with them.
SC needs more conservatives..
They are like Somalis in Minneapolis and Muslims in Dearborn.

The folks who live in the expanse between the Trinity and Sierra ranges from South Butte County to the north end of Siskiyou County will rival any region in the country in their conservatism. Problem for them is they’re grossly outnumbered.
Actually I was the guy posting you should wait for the trail to see if the police would be found guilty.

I know a professional couple who came to East coast twenty yrs ago to get OUT of California. I have thought many times how smart they were.
BTW, they have made good (and needed) conservative citizens.
