North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in April said he would give the U.S. until the end of the year to become more flexible on nuclear talks. Since then, he's launched 12 missiles to back up that warning, including a launch on Thursday. So far, though, there is no evidence the U.S. is changing its stance, meaning the situation could soon get much more volatile, as VOAs Bill Gallo reports from Seoul...(sound file at link)

Nuclear blackmail: the threat mentioned many times by Presidents Bush in regards to Iran, North Korea and others. What would the situation be like, if Iraq and Syria already had nuclear weapons? The future may be interesting, indeed.
And no, the Bushes didn’t measure up to the Trump Administration—nowhere near it.
Kim knows what Trump has been saying.
Trump is being clear.
Has been, the whole time. Trump is the first American leader Kim has dealt with like him.
But Kim needs to recognize very, very clearly.
Trump needs Kim, to comply. That is a fact.
I hope for everyone’s sake, he does.
Kim can really make history, with Trump.
Will he?
Depends on what he defines history as. Miscalculation could make history of North Korea.
An ultimatum? He’s series? He’s a damned idiot, if he think he can get anywhere with ultimatums against this or any other POTUS.
One way or another
Thats what Kim needs to realize
Well thank God, Iraq is now a flourishing democracy so westernized it’s indistinguishable from Miami.
The war was worth it.

You get rid of your nukes...as confirmed by absolute access to your *entire* country by inspectors of *our* choosing...and we,in return, will end the sanctions, allow you and 1,000 of your closest friends free passage to any country that will take you (bringing with you as much as you want) and we,the world's civilized nations, will contribute many, many, many billions in reconstruction aid.
You'll be rich (and safe) and you'll be a *hero* to the entire Korean nation. And Samsung TVs,cell phones and Kias will be built nationwide...north and south...thus allowing *your* people the same amazing prosperity now enjoyed in the South.
Three possibilities leading up to Election Day:
1) Kim relents - Good for Trump, major win
2) Kim escalates - Good for Trump, country backs any incumbent president.
3) Status quo - Good for Trump, country focused on Trump economy and rejecting Democrat insanity.
He was rewarded so quickly by the current administration, he thought he would have to concede nothing. He also thought the current administration was sumpremely more hungry to make any deal than he was; also reinforcing his belief he had to concede nothing. So he has conceded nothing, and he is not going to condede anything other than some fig leafs.
If the current administration realizes they misjudged Kim, they will concede nothing and Kim will increase when and how he behaves badly. If it is Kim that was right about the current administration, then look for a bad deal (like Obama’s with Iran) being made, just to say we got a deal.
I am not predicting which of the two scenarios will play out in 2020, but one of them will.
It goes without saying yours is the closest analysis on the forum as to what is likely going on. He held the high ground. Negotiation goes that way when one person at the table clearly wants a deal much more than the guy and gives away his BATNA.
I think Trump, personally, did not understand that in the history of U.S.-North Korean negotiations, his meeting personally with Kim was a grand concession no U.S. president had ever before given the Kims. Yes, it was a concession.
And, inside North Korea it had huge public P.R. value in how the regime and its control is sold to the people. It marked Kim as more successful than his father and grandfather and that success was getting the U.S. to concede it was a normal country worthy of face-to-face talks with the U.S. president.
It cost Kim nothing to get that, and getting that was huge.
Now he thinks with Trump, he will still get more without conceding anything himself.
Bingo m.
This cannot be logically countered with any modicum of evidence.
Good thing the South now made nice with Kim. Helps his nukes take out Seoul easier.
lol
Well, I don’t know whether or not Iraq has characters like Florida’s face-eating zombies and similar dope fiends.
All of the sanctions against the Norks are still in place and Kim has gotten no money from America. Now Kim is begging to resume negotiations because he has gotten nothing that he really wants. Meanwhile, we are applying considerable economic pressure to the Norks puppet masters in China. Trump is doing just fine. In fact, he is ahead of the game. No money has been handed over for a fake deals like past administrations and he is taking the battle to the Chinese puppet masters, unlike any past administrations and sanctions are still in place. Kim has failed miserably to roll President Trump.
That was a good one, thanks!
