Smugglers in Mexico are SAWING through sections of Trump's 'virtually impenetrable' border wall (tr)

Smuggling gangs in Mexico have continuously sawed through President Trump’s controversial border wall using every day power tools, according the U.S. agents and officials with knowledge of the incidents.

The security breaches, made with a popular cordless reciprocating saw that can sell for less than $100, has been used to open gaps large enough for people and drug loads to filter through.

When fitted with 'specialized' blades, the tool can break through one of the wall's steel and concrete bollards in just minutes.

The Washington Post reports that after slicing through a bollard, smugglers will push the steel out of the way, allowing an adult to fit through the opened space.

Id like to see the oligarchy define “invasion. “. Whom do they perceive as an enemy? If an eeeeevil Russian sawed through, would it then be bad?

“Someone should ask the WP to demonstrate how it is done...”

They’d demonstrate the process, but they need a new saw blade before they can show anyone.

I agree.

You would need a Sawzall with lots of blades and not one that is powered by batteries. And it would still take lots of time.

Big deal. Any obstacle is reducible without overwatch. If the wall is only a wall without sensors or people watching every foot of it, then it’s not that useful. However, it is more than that and the time it takes to get through the wall enables border enforcement to get there and do something about it.

Oh “sources” how are they powering these mythical magic saws?

A very long industrial extension cord?

Thing is, people just need to chill out a little bit. There’s no such thing as an impenetrable wall, all walls can be breached. It just depends on how much time, money, and effort, you wish to expend doing it.

It’s like warfare. There’s no ship that cannot be sunk, no airplane that cannot be shut down, no weapon that cannot be countered.

People are going to dig under the wall, they’re going to saw through the wall, they are going to use grappling hooks to go over the wall. The goal here in my opinion, is this simply try to cut down on The vast majority of illegals Who won’t have the means or the determination to go to that extent.

How much money and resources will our country conserve If we have 20,000 people coming over the border a year instead of 1 million?

At Trump’s presser at the wall a month or so ago everyone said that the columns are being filled with rebar reinforced 5000psi concrete.

Well, if you go on Youtube you’ll find quite a few videos of people sawing through concrete with a sawzall. You just need the right carbide or diamond blade. It was known during the planning stages that the wall could be breached with power tools. The point of the wall isn’t to be impenetrable — that’s impossible for any wall — but to slow down the smugglers for long enough to allow detection and apprehension. I don’t see anything in the WaPo reporting that contradicts this. They’re just banking on people not really understanding the true function of the wall in order to score some gotcha points.

"Apparently Americans NEED drugs to feel good...maybe even to feel."

You're painting the picture with too broad a brush don'tcha think? Make that Some Americans Need drugs...while others live a productive life, sober.

Not making light of addiction; anyone with half a brain and a modicum of self-control would not walk through that door in the first place. If parents would only resume control of their off spring.....

Bring our armed forces back from defending other countries - put them on our southern border to defend our own country for a change. Someone tries to saw through the barrier wall, army kills them all. Simple.

Exactly!

There’s no perfect anything in this old world. If you read the statements by the officials in charge of border security, what they say isn’t that the new wall sections are a perfect solution but that it’s a heck of a lot better than what was there before. And this is with only a fraction of the wall in place and without the detection/monitoring systems being fully implemented.

No; that is how you and I would describe invasion. To the powers that be, it’s anyone they can’t use and profit from coming in.
