either you have to know someone, or be extra-ordinarilly talented AND hope to get a million to 1 shot at being discovered by someone that matters- OR be super aggressive and either get kicked to the curb, or be given a shot eventually-
Trying to be an artist, actor, painter, photographer, designer etc all hinge on extra-ordinary luck simply because there are soo soo many people contending for the same thing that the person often gets lost in a sea of talent- A Drop i nthe ocean so to speak=—
people going to hollywood need to realize their chance of becoming a success are very very small, and also realize that the higher ups know htis and WILL use and exploit the hopeful to no ends-
Guess what sweetheart. If a glamorous showbiz job was easy, we'd all be doing it. Don't want to work 50 hours a week? Don't worry. The young woman standing in line behind you will.
In all fairness to the commie, at least Ed Asner would stand up for the little guy.

Ever since Hollywood began that's been code for, "doesn't give good head" or "isn't Ho enough".

I read the whole article, but found nothing written about what has to be a major grief with “assistants, interns”, and that of course would be the sexual favors demanded of them male, or female while they are getting screwed on the wages.
There was mention in the article about “conditions”. Perhaps that was supposed to be a “dog whistle” on the topic.
Hollywood, which translates to the movie making industry no matter where is comprised of primarily tyrannical, egotistical, narcissistic, self serving individuals, thus the perfect Democrats.
What can government do to address this crisis?
They were slow to pay overtime, encouraged you to work off the clock "to get ahead", suggested things that you could do "on your own" to smooth out your production, discouraged any complaining that might upset management, etc., etc.

My 20s sucked too, when I was a young electrical engineer. Bottom of the totem pole, no friends, no influence over anything, brief periods of accomplishment surrounded by months if not years of frustration, disappointment, and loneliness.
It’s called “paying your dues,” and almost everyone goes through it. At least I didn’t have to sleep with anyone to get a job or a raise, but I guess that’s one of the things a good education gets you.
The few who don’t go through it because of extraordinary talent or luck usually blow it because they don’t learn to value what they have; they throw it away because they don’t realize they may not be able to get it back. One of the big things paying your dues teaches you is to fight to keep what you have.
Hollywood is known for taking advantage of the young, innocent and decent.
Is this really surprise they play the young for fools?
Hollywood’s a well-dressed hellhole - a place Weinstein and all fit in easily... Their only ‘religion’ is abortion on demand - for obvious reasons.
Here on Long Island she could get 29.00 per hour as a flag girl on the road electrial and underground gas crews. Good money for zero dkill. In her off time she could write write write and submit submit submit...until, if ever, someone gives a damn. That is how you make it as a writer.
