I agree, depending on what is meant by the word 'fix'. There are no 'simple' focused solutions, and getting rid of this infestation will require a lot of effort and time. One of the first things we need to do is exactly what Trump is doing - speaking clearly and challenging the thoughts/philosophy/ideology/sacred cows of the left directly and definitively. The shallowness, lack of intellectual underpinning, and destructiveness of the left's positions must be pointed out again, and again, and again in every public forum possible.

The deep state has gotten so deep now, even if you lop off the top four levels, you still have a cadre of chumps to take over. It is that bad. Worse when you as president issue directives and those whom are supposed to follow them just ignore them. Not sure how much the senior officer corps is affected, but it is almost time to replace the civilian “leaders” with their military cohorts...at least they still mostly follow orders.
Bull Durham slapping the cuffs on Brennan, Clapper, Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Page etc might also go along way to reforming their culture.

Let’s first give an Article V COS a try. Its a complete end run, a flanking movement that neither the Deep State nor Congress can corrupt.

It’s a mystery to me how he can hold out hope for a COS.

An article V convention is less likely than divine intervention. I wish it were otherwise.
An article V convention would be a VERY dangerous roll of the dice.
The Constitution, as written, is darn close to perfect...and it ONLY needs to be followed by pols & judges.
So was independence from Great Britain on July 4th 1776.
