AP Analysis: It doesn’t take a crime to impeach a president

If House Democrats press ahead with impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, their case will rest in large part on the claim that he sought a foreign government’s help, with hundreds of millions of dollars in aid in the balance, to dig up dirt on a political opponent to boost his reelection campaign.

But, if true, would that be a crime? The answer might not matter. It doesn’t take a criminal act to impeach a president.

Maybe not, but it takes 67 votes in the Senate to convict.

And as matters stand, there aren’t 51 votes against dismissing any impeachment out of hand, to avoid further wasting Senators’ time.

Exactly.

What goes around comes around — and you can take it to the bank that the democrats will squeal like a bunch of stuck pigs when it does.

The heretofore sacred peaceful transfer of power is dead.

I was even upset a little when President Trump did not receive the traditional 90 day “ Honeymoon Period”. Little did I know at the time that the forces of evil were plotting his virtual assassination from day one.

"A misdemeanor is defined as a minor wrongdoing or crime, but it is still a crime. As such, it is still a part of your criminal record just like a felony conviction would be. If you are asked on a job application whether you have been convicted of a crime, and you have a misdemeanor on your record, the honest answer is yes."

Do Misdemeanors Show Up On Background Checks www.backgroundchecks.com/personal/support/Is_a_misdemeanor_on_your_criminal_record

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"High crimes and misdemeanors" are all things that are legislated or legally ajudicated to be CRIMES.
"Doing stuff we don't like" doesn't meet the impeachment standard.
