If House Democrats press ahead with impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump, their case will rest in large part on the claim that he sought a foreign governments help, with hundreds of millions of dollars in aid in the balance, to dig up dirt on a political opponent to boost his reelection campaign.
But, if true, would that be a crime? The answer might not matter. It doesnt take a criminal act to impeach a president.

keep in mind that every elected republican president has had impeachement inquiries since eisenhower (except for ford but he was not elected).....

"High crimes and misdemeanors" are all things that are legislated or legally ajudicated to be CRIMES.
"Doing stuff we don't like" doesn't meet the impeachment standard.
