Tucker needs to be a bit more objective. Oberlin has long been the highest rated Ohio college; so there are more than a few motives for going there. My four year stint for an A.B. degree in the 1950s was motivated by two considerations: the academic standing and a chance to study the radical leftist element, there, in their own favored environment.

It took me all of a few weeks as a freshman to understand the emotion driven denial of reality, which has characterized the Left since the French Revolution. As a result, I have not lost a debate with a Leftist, since.

Tucker would be well advised to hire--not reject--another Oberlin graduate. Just find a younger Conservative one. Of course, wardaddy is correct about Oberlin's role in undermining American social tranquility. It is just that there are exceptions to the sociopathic pseudo-intellectual poseurs, who are indeed what he suggests.
