Teen activist Greta Thunberg said Tuesday “the climate movement does not need any more awards” as she turned down an environmental prize granted to her by the Nordic Council.
In an Instagram post explaining her decision, Thunberg said that while it was a great honor to receive the prize, what the climate movement needs “is for our politicians and the people in power to start to listen to the current, best available science.”

There’s no “science” there - they’ve made up studies only to confirm their biases and any opposing studies or research is opposed or outright blocked under the guise of “big oil”

I actually feel a bit sorry for Greta. Because her statement above would be correct if folks listened to ALL the current, best available science.
But Greta is only getting one side of the story. Like with most of the general public, she is being denied the opportunity to hear the counter-arguments.
And that makes her nothing more than an unwitting stooge.
I think this is commendable and very smart move. It will show she’s not in it for money. My main issue with her is does she ever go to school???? I’d imagine when the climate does not fall apart as predicted, this young woman will need to chose another career. Education is or should be priority.
How dare she!
