The Senate Republicans should go on offense:

The Republican-controlled Senate should change its rules or enact new rules establishing that it will summarily dismiss any impeachment from the House and not hold a trial, when that impeachment is based on any of the following:

* Partisan politics (this can be proven since impeachment has been their clarion call since Election Night 2016);

* Conduct that falls squarely within the executive’s constitutionally-enumerated powers (among others, the executive’s ability to conduct foreign and national security policy, to protect the homeland, and to fully execute the laws of the United States, including investigating and prosecuting corruption carried out by citizens);

* Hearsay evidence and any other evidence that would be inadmissible under the Federal Rules of Evidence; * Information protected by executive privilege or that is classified; evidence that has been obtained in violation of the accused’s constitutional guarantees or any other laws; or

* Evidence that was illegally obtained.

Don’t do anything. The Democrats are doing a great job of exposing themselves and losing the 2020 election!

Just go into closed session, play a few hands of solitare on their computers to make it look like they are deliberating, then vote to dismiss and move on.

All they have to do is make a motion to dismiss. The Chief Justice will refer that for a vote and all that is needed is 51 and it is over.

Just take an immediate, down the party line, vote no for summary judgment to dismiss with prejudice.

Gutsy? You bet. Likely to rile up the Dems? Don’t care. Effective? Damn right.

Two out of three isn't bad. I don't think the Constitution gives them the authority to dismiss the impeachment or refuse to hold the trial. It'd make for an interesting legal challenge but in the end I think the court would require the Senate trial be held. And it would wind up in an acquittal since there aren't 67 votes to convict.

Just keep the morons talking, they are burying themselves with this. The only thing they have going for them is that their voters are idiots. Most do not seem to be able to read and almost NONE of them can reason.

The Senate should draft a Resolution and vote on it today.

To state that if and when any idiot House Impeachment Resolutions does reach the Senate Floor; it will be immediately voted DOWN. And Not Approved. Without any panel discussion. Without calling back witnesses.

The Senate needs to send a clear message now to Schiff for Brains and other Rats that they are wasting their time with their secret hearings and all that nonsense.

If they have a trial, they should adapt the same rules that the House used to the Senate.

They oughta drag it out until November.

This prevents the Dem senators from campaigning effectively.

* Congress can be called as witnesses if they were involved outside of the process.

Since any such trial will impede numerous Democrat senators, it is tempting to begin the trial but slow-walk it to force Warren, Harris, Booker, Sanders, Klobochar, etc. off the campaign trail. Even better, issue subpoenas demanding all sorts of documentation from Adam Schiff-for-brains and the House Unintelligence Committee, their phone records, their flight schedules, their appointment calendars, emails, internal memos, etc. Demand total openness from them so it can be nitpicked to death. All the while, forcing most of the Democrat front-runners to cool their heels.
