... When the House of Lords approves the election bill today then we will be on course for a 12 December winter election.
It is set to be one of the most unpredictable and epic elections of modern times.
Unpredictable, because Brexit totally overshadows it, but also because Brexit has totally reshaped our politics, too.
The main parties can no longer rely on the traditional class party residual loyalty. Instead, we have an emerging sort of identity culture politics which has changed the game entirely.
And epic in the sense that the sort of promises the two main parties are making are gargantuan huge spending promises.
It is going to be a titanic contest.

He added: We will see what happens. I am not ruling anything in, not ruling anything out.
'But it would appear he wants to fight the election on the basis of that treaty which I just dont think is Brexit. But that may change.
The future of Britain hangs in the balance. Will she continue to be absorbed by Globalism, or will she preserve herself as a nation state that can control the influx of aliens, extricating herself from socialist economy to the free economy led by America?
We will see.
Go Boris!
Uxbridge and South Ruislip voted Leave in the 2016 EU Referendum by 57.2% vs 42.81 for Remain.
In the 2017 General Election the Results were:
Boris Johnson CON 23,716 50.8% +0.6
Vincent Lo LAB 18,682 40.0% +13.6
Rosina Robson LIB 1,835 3.9% -1.0
Elizabeth Kemp UKI 1,577 3.4% -10.8
Mark Keir GRE 884 1.9% -1.3
Topping 50% in a UK Parliamentary Constituency is a pretty good result.
Hope Boris will get a Brexit wave... Better people for Brexit...
The meme ban and link tax would make great campaign ads for Brexit...
Candor7 will she (Britain) preserve herself as a nation state --> Britain is NOT a nation state - England is a nation, Scotland another nation, Wales another nation. "Britain" is a union of nations, not a nation state
Candor7 that can control the influx of aliens -- Britain can and does already do that. It isn't a signatory to Schengen and checks the visas for any non-EU citizens preventing them from entering. So if Joe Blow from Buenos Aires, a resident (even a permanent resident) of Madrid wants to go to the UK for tourism, leave alone work, he needs to get a visa
And if Jose Gonzalez from Madrid, a Spanish citizen, wants to the go to the UK to work - as per EU rules if he doesn't find a job in 3 months, he can be deported.
Boris should get a slim majority in parliament. Labour would lose a lot of seats as it is neither for Brexit nor against it.
But the LibDems have placed themselves firmly in the cancel Brexit camp and they will win a lot of seats.
I guess Boris should get a slim majority in parliament, and the LibDem-Green-SNP-Plaid Cymbru alliance should be second ahead of Labour.
As to the Brexit party’s role? Who knows! They target the same people as Boris, so if they stand, they WILL divide the votes.
Nigel Farage - if his party contests - could end up destroying Boris’ winning chances and might even give a “cancel Brexit” group the majority
if he doesn’t find a job in 3 months, he can be deported. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Yes but that is not really happening, as you likely know.
Because the British government, under Johnson, May, Cameron, brown etc haven’t done that.
They preferred to keep it running as an election plank
