Attorney General Bill Barr, in an interview with Fox News, defended the independence and integrity of the politically contentious probe being led by U.S. Attorney John Durham into the handling of the Russia investigation while taking a swipe at James Comeys past leadership of the FBI.
I do want to say that one of the reasons Mr. Durham is able to make the kind of progress hes making is because Director Wray and his team at the FBI have just been outstanding in support and responsiveness given to Mr. Durham, Barr said. As you know, Ive said previously that I felt there was a failure of leadership at the bureau in 2016 and part of 2017, but since Director Wray and his team have taken over theres been a world of change. I think that he is restoring the steady professionalism thats been a hallmark of the FBI. I really appreciate his leadership there.

I observe that as well. Wont know what to make of it until the indictments start coming down.
It's hard to make a determination from our view of things...but I trust Barr.....100%
No kidding.
Im surprised Wray is cooperating.
Perhaps he wants to keep his job?
“Failure of leadership” is not a good description of what was happening in 2016 and 2017.
Coup plotting and treason are a much better description.
This use of language by Barr is _not_ a good sign.
Silence would have been preferable.
Barr is leaving the indictment language for Durham.
Comey should always be referred to by his proper title. He should always be addressed as His Eminence James Cardinal Comey. I sure hope that His Eminence gets what is coming to him.
My thoughts exactly, “ failure of leadership”, really?
He threw water on the “impeach Barr” crowd by emphasizing that the probe is Durham’s. Give the Left five minutes to invent something on Durham. I hope the indictments start before then, so they can complain about the “unfair process” from their jail cells.
Wray wasn’t getting good marks earlier. That’s changed apparently for him and his staff.
A government official can not block a criminal investigation. Doing so means instant culpability with tangible obstruction charges.
AG Barr is signaling the entire Swamp that Wray and his people know this and are acting “cooperative” accordingly.
This sends the message about the Durham criminal probe and a shiver down the spines of all the seditionists.
Show time.
I’m a cynic.
I’m very cynical about all of this and everyone in it.
I’m going to go against every instinct I have and trust Barr to do his job in an honorable manner.
Sidney Powell is very dubious of AG Barr because of his history with the Bush family. I have no confidence in FBI Director Wray. The FBI Deep State has done nothing but delay and sabotage POTUS#45DJT
I agree...if there’s any “there” there...Barr will find it. Just remember, its very hard to go after cops....they have tons of leeway.
Until every one of those who participated in that effort are identified and properly punished, our government-including our intelligence gathering and investigative branches will not be cleansed of the problem.
It is imperative for the restoration of public confidence that those who were involved are held accountable. Anything less is just more of the same. Public statements about "failure of leadership" are weak and ineffective. So, hopefully, there is more to come from Barr and Durham.
Reverse psychology. Barr says Wray is assisting in the probe; now the MSM will attack Wray, call for his firing due to incompetence.
Perhaps he wants to keep his job?
Or he was told to cooperate or hed be next up on the list for obstructing Justice.
L
His defense of Wray is not very comforting, either.
I think that not having recently announced that the "inquiry" had become a "criminal investigation" would have been a bad sign.
If Barr had used the phrase that I mentioned in Post #7 the chant would have been "WHERE'S THE EVIDENCE?".
Joe DiGenova, who knows much,*much* more about this stuff than I do has enormous confidence in Barr.So for the time being I'll have confidence too.
