Following backlash from elected officials and anti-slaughterhouse organizers, meat production company Strauss Brands says it’s no longer pursuing a $60 million plan to relocate its headquarters and meat processing facility — along with 250 jobs — to Milwaukee’s Century City.
“It was our hope that Strauss Brands’ move to Milwaukee’s Century City neighborhood would have created jobs, provided an economic boost, and inspired other businesses to follow suit,” said Randy Strauss, president and CEO of Strauss Brands, in a statement Monday. “We honor and respect the opinions of the community and don’t want to make our home in a place where our presence would not be seen as a benefit. We are no longer pursuing relocation to Century City.”
The project is now likely headed back to the city of Franklin, where Strauss Brands already has a location.

Similar problem in a area west of depressed Rockford, IL a few years ago. The lefties complained that these were “low-paying” jobs, and the NIMBYs were concerned about smells and traffic.
Amazon was going to hire 25000 people in Queens. The liberals blocked it. It’s a Marxist ploy. This isn’t new.
And, of course, Amazon did not drop its plans to hire 25000 people. They just decided not to hire them in Queens.
And its not like 500 cows are going to wander off into the woods and just die a peaceful death. They will be slaughtered. Just not in Milwaukee.
No victory was gained by the Left in either case. They lost and are too stupid to know it.
FWIW, Franklin is about 100 miles west of Minneapolis.

Democrats’ views of black people have not changed one iota since the day the party was founded. They still believe that they own black people, that blacks are their property. And blacks who work and become self-sufficient and get off their demeaning social programs are stolen property.
There are different ways to enslave a man. One is to work him without pay. Another is to pay him without work. Democrats used to do it the first way until we banned it, so now they do it the second way. And then they have the unmitigated gall to call it compassion.
I wish they would stop pretending to care about other people. They don’t, never have, and the pretense is offensive. Fake, phony frauds.
I believe that tanners and glue factories traditionally located near slaughter houses. This tended to make for an aromatic neighborhood.

Well, that’s what I said. Amazon did not drop its plans to expand its business empire. They just dropped their plans to move to Queens and hire New Yorkers. The commies kicked them out. Amazon didn’t suffer. They just moved elsewhere. Only New York suffered. Because AOC is stupid.
Why don't they put a Planned Parenthood site on that location?
