For the second time in two days, CBS This Morning managed to twist a light segment into something political. Co-host Gayle King interviewed Bruce Springsteen, but decided to goad the liberal singer into discussing 2020. After playing a recent clip of Donald Trump King, King pressed, So he's going back to 2016. This is now 2019. Are you surprised that he's trash talking you after all this time?
The journalist prompted, I mean, a lot of people are very concerned about the direction of the country. Springsteen replied, It's just frightening. We're living in a frightening time. The stewardship of the nation has been thrown away to somebody who doesn't have a clue as to what that means.
Regarding 2020, King attempted to find out which Democrat the singer supported: Well, you know, you campaigned Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Is there anybody if they called you said, Okay, I'll go out?
Springsteen was a big backer of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. But, King is also a Democratic donor. No wonder it was a comfy interview.
On Thursday, CBS brought on British royal expert Tina Brown to supposedly talk about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Instead, the former Newsweek editor slammed the racist Brexit England.

I agree. Hate his guts and think he is a terrible singer and song writer.
Springsteen has been so rich for so long he is hopelessly out of touch with average working people who have benefitted from Trump.
I know people who spent hard-earned money to by tickets to his concert, only to be subjected to a 105 minute rant about George Bush. Nothing Springsteen does in this regard surprises me.
I did enjoy him on the Chuck Berry documentary, where Berry cheats them out of $1000. They were the backup band for him when he came to Philly.
Very funny if you haven’t seen it, well worth it.
I don’t really get it. Springsteen’s career would be off the charts if he were a Trump lover.
huh?
Little Steven became political,
Clarence passed away,
Bruce went off the rails!
Gotta be a Spingsteen song in there somewhere.
Shut up and sing/act/play/juggle/dance, trained monkeys.
Springsteen sucks ping!
bttt for Springteen sucks!!!!
Never understood either. If you’re from NJ you’re just automatically supposed to love him. If you’re not from NJ well...I don’t know if you’re supposed to love him or not since I grew up in NJ and that’s what we were supposed to do..?
Who knows. But they should just leave their politics out of it.
I was always frightened by anyone who thought Springsteen could actually sing...
Which singer do you think loves America based on their songs about our U.S.A.?:
Springsteen-
Born down in a dead man's town
The first kick I took was when I hit the ground
You end up like a dog that's been beat too much
Till you spend half your life just covering up
Born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
Got in a little hometown jam
So they put a rifle in my hands
Sent me off to a foreign land
to go and kill the yellow man
Born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man says "son if it was up to me"
Went down to see my V.A. man
He said "son don't you understand now"
Had a brother at Khe Sahn fighting off the Viet Cong
They're still there he's all gone
He had a woman in Saigon
I got a picture of her without arms
Down in the shadow of penitentiary
Out by the gas fires of the refinery
I'm ten years burning down the road
Nowhere to run ain't got nowhere to go
Born in the U.S.A.
I was born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
I'm a long gone daddy in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A.
I'm a cool rocking daddy in the U.SA.
Greenwood:
If tomorrow all the things were gone
I worked for all my life
And I had to start again
With just my children and my wife
I thank my lucky stars
To be living here today
'Cause the flag still stands for freedom
And they can't take that away
And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I'd gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.
From the lakes of Minnesota
To the hills of Tennessee
Across the plains of Texas
From sea to shining sea
From Detroit down to Houston
And New York to L.A.
Where's pride in every American heart
And it's time we stand and say
That I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I'd gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.
And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I'd gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.
Bet everyone choose Lee Greenwood for singer who loves America based on lyrics..
But how ironic is it, that the issues in the Springsteen song- endless wars, VA incompetence, prison reform, and economic despair, have ALL been addressed and improved by President Donald J. Trump.
If elitist jacka$$ Springsteen cared about any of these things, he'd be thanking POTUS. But what he (BS) really wants is for the little people to be totally controlled by lying, corrupt, democrat/Marxist/globalist politicians.
Springsteen sounds like he’s been trying to make a bowel movement for the last 45 yrs.
The 1970’s Chuck Berry concert at Convention Hall in Asbury Park was the loudest concert I had ever been to.. My ears rang for DAYS.
I’ll check out the documentary.
The demoncRats are just out to lunch. There's no rhyme or reason. They just have an opinion based on a vapor trail.
“They just have an opinion based on a vapor trail.”
Many times when I see their antics I think of that Simpson’s “Do As You Feel Festival”.
I never got into the Simpsons, but I can imagine where they went with that.
Smile...
