Not retribution. Strategy.

When the states residence get so howling mad they begin to threaten the political class in the state and those politicians begin to see people willing to primary them pop up the politicians will DEMAND the power be turned on.

Once this demand is made by the politicians it frees the utilities from liability. This what the utilities want.

It’s dishonest in every possible way that one can be dishonest to post that without admitting that Freepers have suggested Jim remove himself and the site from California for over a decade.

Your snowflake virtue signal fails to impress.

The environmentalists are so strong and powerful they’ve destroyed the laws, rules and regulations to keep the lights on. Newsom is blaming PG&E but it’s the government forcing this stuff. Environmentalists demand shoddy power like windmills, and solar which would go down anyway if connected to the power grid....then there is the rules and laws against wood stoves and barbecues( in some areas).

These idiots believe in their platitudes and do zero cost analysis nor hardships sand power which means production, all production including gas stations comes to a standstill. Banks close, everything stops except people with generators which run on gas or diesel.

The 61/90 democrats( read leftist communists) in Sacramento love a good socially engineered crisis. Taxes and forcing a confabulated Green New Deal is their goal. Killing their own fools who voted for them is their goal. Destroying borders and forcing us to finances illegals is their goal. In essence their goal is to fundamentally change California and the United States one blacked out home at a time.

> They should just shut down all power to the state for the months that fire is a hazard. The residents can use batteries and go green. <

It should be even easier than that. Since high winds are expected, why not just switch everything over to wind power?

Call me a dreamer. But I envision the day when every building in California has one of those Dutch-style windmills on the roof.

It goes beyond forest management out there.

They get 70 mph and higher straight winds. That requires civil planning that breaks up urban and suburban area with broad bands of cleared agricultural land which can be plowed and backfired (or just plowed with the monster equipment we have now) to create firebreaks wide enough to stop the spread of fire in that kind of wind.

The irresponsible idiots developed the land that once acted as needed firebreaks. Now there are homes and shopping centers and gas stations in an unbroken area.

Unfortunately we have California shitheads moving into Texas screwing up our civil engineering in the same way.

People tell me to leave Maryland. But I’m not leaving a perfectly beautiful little state to be overrun entirely by foolish liberals. There are still LOTS of good Conservatives here - AND in California.

Hmm. I fail to see your post applying to what I said.
At all.

Do Maryland’s government policies make it a fire trap now?Because they didn’t when I was stationed there in the early nineties.

Was I criticizing California on the basis of whether or not individuals are conservative or liberal, instead of because they have engaged in irrational and unworkable dismantling of fire control policies starting in the nineteen sixties?
