Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is spearheading the resolution, which is backed by 44 GOP senators including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).
Graham, during a press conference with reporters, lashed out the House impeachment inquiry calling it a "secret proceeding" and a "rogue action" that "denies due process."
"The process in the House today I think is a danger to the future of the presidency," Graham told reporters.
He argued that under the current procedure Trump was "pretty much shut out," adding "God help future presidents."
The GOP senators not cosponsoring the resolution as of Thursday afternoon, according to a list from Graham's office, are: Sens. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), Susan Collins (R-Maine), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Cory Gardner (R-Colo.), Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.), Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.), Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) and Rob Portman (R-Ohio).

there’s 9 yes votes to impeachment!
They would need 20 Republicans to cross the line to do that. I doubt half these guys pull the trigger after the Sham trial shows the partisan politics. These cowards are like hyenas. Work in packs but are cowards individually. If they don’t have 20 Republicrats voting to remove. Most will crawl back under a rock and not risk getting caught raising their middle finger to President Trump.
“I wonder if this means the impeachment will be successful?”
I believe it is 67 votes to indict and remove Trump from office. With those nine turning on the President, they are still 14 votes shy of indictment.
Not a chance but it makes for some good story pearl clutching
GA and TN elected the wrong senator years ago.
EVERY ONE of those COWARDS NEED TO BE VOTED AGAINST!
I hate to disagree with a senior and respected FReeper - but, as events are about to reveal, were past that point.
So voters in AK and WY want impeachment? Enzi was elected as a conservative in 1996.
>>Spit Romney...Zit Romney...<<
$h!+ Romney...
(careful, don’t get any of that on ya)
Thanks for that accounting. These Republican Senators who are not supporting Graham’s resolution deserve the be on the trash pile of politics...come their next election.
Cory Gardner is up for re-election. Primary him and support his challenger. Do t know about the rest of those pukes. Lamar Alexander is retiring and the Bishops in Utah will make sure that puke has a job for life. This is why Trump’s endorsements don’t carry as much weight. He endorsed this fool...but why?
I’d say Primary Collins as well. If you don’t fight for the state it’ll never change. No one ever pushes her to the right
Both senators from Alaska. ? What’s wrong with the voters their. Wish Palin would make a presser and nail these two stupid people.
Scumbags — bump for later....
Test vote to see which Senate Republicans will work with Adam Schiff and Pelosi to remove Trump from office,
No he is not, n00b.
I heard 46 late on Hannity, but I suspect and predicted more would join, as you indicate may have happened. They’ll get 50, but probably not all. Pressure will cascade on any hold outs.
Thanks. I think the rat bastards have no intention of quitting.

We will need to keep fighting one more fight than them.
The last fight will be victory. If we stop, we lose.
Grahamnesty is protecting McNuts! (Hope he's burning in hell!) Grahamnesty has done only one good thing in the last 11 years and that's his speech and chastisement during the Kavanaugh attempted lynching! Other than that, NOTHING!
If there is no GOP person I feel good about, then I skip that position and move on. Yes, I don't vote for a specific candidate. So, if say, George W. Bush was running for president again, I would probably skip voting for president. I am DONE voting for the LESSER of two "weevils" (see the movie "Master and Commander; the Far Side of the World" to hear that comment and try to figure it out!!). I am just sick of voting for crummy candidates, butt kissers, buttHOLES of the party, ASSHOLES for candidates.
I am done with them. If there is no one worth a damn, I move on. If that candidate loses his ass, then he/she should have been a better candidate for me to vote for! Otherwise, the hell with them. The stinking GOP IS AT FAULT for NOT placing a decent candidate in that position. Basically, I am finished GIVING my vote away to the stinking GOP for a crap candidate. If they are CRAP candidates, then the GOP is going to pay the price for it, not me. I am sick of them. To hell with them.
