Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is spearheading the resolution, which is backed by 44 GOP senators including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).
Graham, during a press conference with reporters, lashed out the House impeachment inquiry calling it a "secret proceeding" and a "rogue action" that "denies due process."
"The process in the House today I think is a danger to the future of the presidency," Graham told reporters.
He argued that under the current procedure Trump was "pretty much shut out," adding "God help future presidents."
The GOP senators not cosponsoring the resolution as of Thursday afternoon, according to a list from Graham's office, are: Sens. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), Susan Collins (R-Maine), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Cory Gardner (R-Colo.), Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.), Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.), Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) and Rob Portman (R-Ohio).

How does a former Governor of Massachusetts become a Senator from Utah???
What a carpet bagging assh*le.
ROFLMAO!!!
I thought about that but was too lazy to type it.
Thanks for mentioning it.
Because it’s ####ing ridiculous.
I HATE that #### almost as much as I hated McCain and romney has a lot more years to make me hate him more
So many good lessons! You can act like a man... Never let anyone outside the family know what you’re thinking... We have some newspapermen on the payroll....
I’ll take a moment here to offer some defense for Susan Collins.
She is targeted every single election as being vulnerable and a magnet for national funding of her opponent. But she continues to win and each year she votes for a Republican to be majority leader and control the Senate’s agenda.
But most important of all, it was her very powerful presentation that got Kavanaugh his seat on the Supreme Court. She did not merely vote for him. She went out in front of the cameras and gave a long careful presentation of her analysis and voted in a way that guaranteed the money will avalanche for her opponent in Maine in the next election.
She frequently obstructs the conservative agenda, but in Maine we could do far worse.
Trump only needs 33.
He has 45-50
Hey-— Murkowski and Sullivan.... “how much is the “TURK”, ie. big oil socialists, paying you to NOT support the President, and member of YOUR OWN PARTY?”
Answer-— “hey, ask diane Feinstein— she’s the one who laid it on from the chi-coms to Murkowski”... recall the hallway photos of the angst’ ridden Murkowski outside the Kavanaugh hearing. Where she didn’t support Kavanaugh as SCOTUS nominee, working as she always has... for feinstein’s handlers.
NINE SOLID VOTES FOR CONVICTION OF TRUMP
Yeah. Collins finally came through for Kavanaugh, so I go a little easy on her.
Remember. First the dems tried to bribe her. Then, when that didn’t work, they got really nasty with her.
I knew the dems had pissed her off something fierce and that she was probably going to vote YES for Kavanaugh ....
though she still made me sweat it out. lol
The only Republican senators to vote for removal of Trump from office are those who won’t run for reelection. If Jeff Flake was still a senator, he would have voted to remove Trump. I think less than 9 Republican senators will vote for conviction.
Walk through the list.
Romney has a recall effort on against him in UTAH.Centering on Mexican free labor and immigration and his relatives who LIVE in Mexico on estates.
Isakson has Parkinsons and is retiring Dec. 31st. He might sign on... for power legacy. His replacement appointed by GA governor- Repub. who just won vs. Stacy Abrams.
Of the others on the list: here’s a sort of summary: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/19-gop-senators-are-up-for-re-election-in-2020-heres-where-they-stand-on-the-impeachment-inquiry/
The usual cabal of a-holes
I'm not waiting for the future.
May God help President Trump and preserve him from his enemies. Amen.
Excellent post. Clears up a lot of things not readily available in most brief stories. Thanks.
Wow. Newspapermen on the payroll. How fitting that is today.
Keep your friends close but your enemies closer.
Don’t hate your enemy. It clouds your judgement.
One speculative timeline I saw puts the House Democrats passing impeachment next October, too late before the election for the Senate to hold the trial.
Sens. Mitt Romney (R-Utah), Susan Collins (R-Maine), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Cory Gardner (R-Colo.), Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.), Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.), Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) and Rob Portman (R-Ohio).
These are the ones that stand loose if there deeds are exposed.
I do not think a state can recall a US Senator. It takes a 2/3rd vote of the remaining 99 senators to remove a sitting Senator.
Sullivan and Portman have signed on to the petition, according to Graham’s twitter page.
I think Isakson will either sign or let his replacement sign. He is gone as of mid-December anyway.
The others should be told they will be stripped of their committee assignments, RNC funding and all privileges if they vote to remove Trump.
Those are 9 Senators I suspect are also getting kickbacks for their family or some other type of corruption they don’t want exposed.
Primary the bastards!
