Bunch of "whereas" followed by:
Resolved, That the Senate--
(1) calls on the House of Representatives, prior to proceeding any further with its impeachment in- vestigation into President Trump, to vote to initiate a formal impeachment inquiry;
(2) calls on the House of Representatives to provide President Trump, like every other American, with due process, to include the ability to confront his accusers, call witnesses on his behalf, and have a basic understanding of the accusations against him that would form any basis for impeachment; and
(3) calls on the House of Representatives to provide members of the minority with the ability to participate fully in all proceedings and have equal authority to issue subpoenas and other compulsory process.

Graham is fond of the Clinton model, in particular where Clinton had a war room working hand in hand with the press to provide a public defense every day.
In his presser today, Graham said that Clinton did well to continue "presidenting" while under impeachment trial. Trump is already doing this.
Graham knows damn well that Trump can;t enlist the press for support they way the press supported Clinton. he said as much in the presser, that if the GOP was doing to a DEM president what Pelosi and Schiff are doing to Trump, the press would have conniption fits. By his own observation, Graham would be giving bad advice if he suggested that Trump attempt to enlist the press or otherwise set up some sort of "messaging" operation.
The tweets are sufficient messaging. The muscle comes from elsewhere.
-- Linda is distancing himself from a shit storm, in my opinion. --
Linda is a big government apologist, never met a war he didn't like, and never met a problem that couldn't be solved with more laws. When the FISA abuse report comes pout, Linda will be leading the way with more laws.
Makes as much sense as "more laws prevent gun violence." Corrupt actors in the government remain protected by their corrupt puppets in Congress.
36 Co Signers. Game over
Wishful thinking. The impeachment circus is just starting.
How about, as Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, calling some of these snakes to answer for their perceived crimes? You know, real stuff, not fluff.
Or, how 'bout this threat?

Ping!
Want on or off Linda's fav ping list? Just FReepmail me.
Remember that linda is up for reelection in 2020.
Remember also that linda is writing a Red Flag bill.
Not yet ;-)
What a putz, eh? ROTFL. This is as much fun as Fredo Cuomo!
Or both. <- that's my pick
It is a start. However, I do not Trust Graham.
***************
I do not trust Republicans in general. They do not have a track record that inspires confidence in them.
Yes, feckless.
https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/feckless
It should be House Republicans leading the defense right now, with Senators talking loudly, as Graham is now, about the inherent sense of fairness and principle of the American people is being violated.
I like the “lynching” analogy. It paints an accurate picture of the proceedings. Complete abandonment of the basic tenets of justice for mob rule. “Witch Hunt” evokes similar imagery.
Those darn Democrats, they’re still chasing ghosts and hunting witches. In sinister, dark tones.
If there is one thing senators are good at its useless gestures.
*************
Most of them are just professional liars.
I read this as lindsy and other senators keeping their options open. They want the appearance of supporting a fair process, but would take any results they produce by any means.
Easily.
I'm surprised that they did even this, what with staying in their own lane and all.
Although there is something to be said for trying to protect the intitution of Congress as a whole.
The Senate is already known as nutty, corrupt and dysfunctional. If the House faloows suit, the whole of the legislative branch becomes a public laughingstock.
That was really dumb, in every way. Senator Delecto will never be able to fully shake that. Rush was using it today.
I see what you did there.
Knee jerk negativism.
In the presser he used to intro this, he dropped back to "investigate Ukraine 2016" a couple times, in response to questions about THIS impeachment justification.
The reporters didn't see the connection, but in Graham's mind, investigating the ongoing coup (Ukraine 2016/Mueller/etc.) is relevant to the onging coup (allegation of trading foreign aid for dirt on Biden for political purposes).
It is an important piece of information "for the record".
Go read how many Senate votes it takes to impeach
Then subtracted 36 from 100 and tell us what you get.
Graham is in this whole Russia BS up to his eyeballs which is the reason he has done NOTHING in Senate judiciary to be on offense for POTUS!!! This guy was involved in ALL of this MARK MY WORDS!!!
ICIG took an issue outside of his jurisdiction, and this is obvious from the laws. Has nothing to do with relaxing policy on hearsay.
September 3, 2019 DOJ/OLC Opinion: Complaint to ICIG Atkinson is not "Urgent Concern"
OLC is controlling law for Atkinson. He just said he disagreed with it, so he wasn't going to follow it.
Not disagreeing that Atkinson needs to go, just that the exact reason is one of stepping outside of his lane, not one of taking crap evidence and advancing it.
Being he was John McCain’s big buddy and I have no doubt he was involved in a lot of this.
