Turkey never should have been in NATO.

Hopefully the nukes at Incirlik were removed.

If not NATO Turkey would be a Soviet satellite.

The Russians can have Turkey for all I care.
Istanbul might be Constantinople, again.

Well a Muslim country does have nukes — namely Turkey. Why Trump allows Turkey to keep nukes is a mystery to me.

Turkey, whose leaders are once again living up to the name.
Can’t touch Israel.
So why would you want to touch Israel?

“Turkey never should have been in NATO.”
I agree. Though, there was a time where at least it made some sense, but only transitory. Rather than having Turkey become a part of NATO we should have just struck an independent deal with them, to be reviewed annually and renewed if warranted.
I was stationed in Turkey in the early 1970s, and they hated us even back then.

Send an Air Force Colonel or Navy Captain over there to explain MIRV to the Turkish president.

If not for the UK in the 17th through the 20th century Turkey would be Christian. If we cut Turrkey loose I don’t think much time would pass before Russia started seizing its territory. I pray for the rebirth of Constantinopal and having the Turks driven back to Central Asia.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, - some countries have missiles with nuclear warheads, not one or two. But we can't have them. This, I cannot accept. I see a bright shining future for him.
Very bright.

NATO has been playing a dangerous game with Turkey. The Turks are the warriors of NATO. (besides the US). They're not about to cede power or put up with the Kurds fighting for independence within or along their borders. Quite a few of us have been bringing up this untenable contradiction of entangling alliances for years.
Of course Turkey wants nukes. Saudi Arabia and Israel are a threat to everyone else in the ME. Add to that they just might be concerned about what a Kurdish northern Iraq will mean for them.
